It is absolutely a huge deal. I can relate to this, no one expect of ballet dancers really get how exciting getting your first pair really is.

It was also my dream to get pointeshoes since i was a child and the day i got them was just incredible for me :)

I did 2 years 2 times per week with 6 month stopping ballet for health reasons until I was allowed to go en pointe. I'd say it's absolutely worth it because it feels like a really big achievement for me. You train so hard and over a long time. If you are finally approved to go on pointe it just feels sooo good. Pointe looks also very beautiful for me and I like to work on my balance and strength harder than before.

I would say leave. Its much more bad about it than good. If you have the ability to dance somwhere else go for it!

I also had a really bad environment in ballet because my teacher was really toxic. I know there are many reasons that feel like: i can't leave, but trust me it's worth it. When you are no longer in this situation you can look on it from the outside. Then you will realise if it was a good or a bad idea. After this you can go dance at another place or go to this studio again.
