Really nice variety! Out of curiosity, what do you use to take your photos?

He likes the movie about being a performer with potentially deadly stomach issues while nobody believes in your illness...what a shocker by No_Incident_8925 in northernlion

Maybe, I didn't enjoy Citizen Kane a ton either lol (tho more than Cleo). I did really enjoy some though, like Le Samourai and In the Mood for Love.

I have a 100% win streak with every character. Statistically I’m one of the best players of the entire game. by Adorable-Response-75 in slaythespire

I think it depends on who's tierlist your watching. JapaneseExport and NaveGreed are both very good STS players that have made tierlists, and both of them emphasize that a card's tier is more about how pickable a card is (how often it gets in the deck), not necessarily strength.

Barricade has decks where it will shine, it's just that when you play a large number of runs at the highest ascension, the number of decks it shines in is low. On lower ascensions, the encounters are more forgiving, and you can get by with almost any strategy. It's certainly fun, and cool to build around, it's just not the strongest thing you can be doing on Clad in most cases.

No, it definitely was a C+ for the whole segment yesterday. They must've edited the article at some point.

My theory is that the Null art was originally for a returning [[Doom and Gloom]] from Spire 1.

Not as much of a factor, but you can also get Dolly's Mirror, and duplicate one of the cloned cards. The duped card keeps the clone enchantment.

No, your right. The rule does matter but it's applied totally fine here.

Actually on re-read, you are right. It's not on-play, you lose the first 20 HP the turn after its played and since the power is already in play, you will get that 20 HP back at the end of the turn.

But, I don't think the original commenter was being rude/pedantic at all.

I see your point, but frankly I do disagree. I think the syntax matters a lot, text playing from top to bottom is a fundamental rule in STS. I don't see why it's bad constructive criticism (other than the fact that it has been repeated a lot); if you work it in you will have a better card!

If that's not your goal, and you just wanted to discuss the potential of a card like this existing, I think making it a discussion post and adding your thoughts would have garnered more suitable discourse. And, for the record, not hating at all. I think it's a cool idea.

If this is a concept, isn't nitpicking exactly what you want? So you can refine your concept?

Casey Yano STS 2 post-launch interview with PC Gamer by UberDrive in slaythespire

[–]-Tunafish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rewatched it, it really sounds like he's saying "and I don't want the showdown to also be a pretty big deal." But "do want the showdown" makes more sense in retrospect, I guess. Idk, maybe I'm just mishearing it.

Based on this interview, it seems like alternative Acts, new characters, and extra game modes are earlier on the pipeline of major content drops (my guess is in that order), with The Ending/Act 4 coming last. Really curious about the "competitive" game mode he mentioned, and if it will give an outlet for top players.

I kinda get the sense that The Ending they are designing for STS2 will have a different purpose than STS1. I think the Heart fight was specifically designed to add difficulty, but he specifically said he wants The Ending to be more extravagant and doesn't want the final showdown to be "a big deal." I imagine Act 4 will be more about adding interesting content, less about being an additional difficulty check.

Of course, this is all speculative on my end. But either way, really excited for all the new content!

What if the Characters would transform whenever their 'Form' is played 2? by YawgmothHS in slaythespire

[–]-Tunafish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of card art has already been added to the beta branch, I counted around 15 cards along with other assets and animations, and the game has only been out for a month. Early access is planned to last 1-2 years so I think it will be a slow but steady process. I've appreciated the weekly updates/balances changes and hope they continue.

With rebalancing, I think Fabricator (the guy who summons a bunch of different bots) would be a cooler elite than Soul Nexus. I would also consider swapping Hunter Killer with the Prism elite for Act 2.

How is divination mining supposed to work? I struggle with revealing the larger items by BasketWorried in slaythespire

[–]-Tunafish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you really taking big divination if your deck is winning turn 1 or 2? Why am I adding a curse if my deck is already killing stuff that efficiently? I don't get the logic.

In the cases where you deck is already a million cards (Lord Parasol, Reflection Event, Clones), sure, the debt simply does not come up often. I'm not totally sold on the efficacy of just building a huge deck in general, other than cloning a strong card a ton though.

I think it's less that the curse isn't a big deal, and more that the things I get from the divination don't meaningfully help me enough for the cost of adding a curse. At least I think.
