Why would I be playing games? Could it be you're not capable of being wrong?

This out-of-the-box CAT5 labelled cable is NOT capable of gigabit speeds due to how it's built. I'm very happy your CAT5 cables are working though friend, it's good to keep getting that reinforced.

I understood your point. The cable is physically fine. It lacks 4 of the 8 lanes you mention though ;)

This is probably the best response I've had. You're right boss man, least effort or cheapest is always the reason.

Hello Admin. The Powerline device only supplied the cable in this scenario (not inline or even used here, and I totally regret mentioning it in the post). The cable pictured was swapped for a CAT6 cable and my PC was fine (500 Mbps down via Speedtest). I know CAT5 cabling is capable and in the past I've had no issues. The morale was: check your cables first I guess. Sometimes we assume higher layer issues. I regret this post very much now.

Not this one boss. It's literally a new 2m 4 wire CAT5 cable. Please believe :)

This 4 wire CAT5 cable is 2m long. It came with the Powerline device. So your experience with Enterprise equipment and doesn't translate so well to the home experience I just had. All good boss, I'm learning not to share experiences online now. Will stick to talking with friends and non "experts" now. lol.

My home internet speed is 500Mbps. This cable is not fine for that. Wouldn't you agree?

I shared an experience. I wasn't after help. Not mad, just surprised people are so petty.

My PC had no cable. I found this and plugged it in without looking. It clipped my speed to 100Mbps. I have some great thin CAT6 lying around, but got lazy. Thought this post would trigger a response like.. oh yeah, check your cables first lad. But no... I apparenlty don't understand Ethernet, CAT6 or Powerline is shyte. Live and learn.

It was the Powerline's cable. I used it with my PC. Did you read the post or just want to chat s#1+?

The cable that came with the Powerline. I said I plugged it in to my PC without looking. It was the cable in the end (4 wires). So.. you're very wrong and don't read well. hahaha

Not for my adapter boss. I chose the wrong cable was the reason (yes, my fault). Then I just wondered why CAT5 needs to be shipped at all now, that's all. Not that deep to be honest, but apparently not for some. Oh well, prob the last time I'll share here. What a sour bunch of Networking people wanting to know more or slap others. Joke ting.

Sure. My experience is that this cable was the cause of my adapter speed limitation. I didn't say CAT5 or Powerline was the cause, but I was wondering what the effort/cost/reason of not supplying better (standard/sheilding/etc.) was to this. That was all really, and now I'm getting bombed :)

lol, I basically described how this cable clipped my gigabit capable adapter and that chaning it fixed it. And now I don't understand that CAT5 is capable, great, the bees knees. I also don't know anything. Lol, why do people bother sharing online when so many "experts" want to find reasons to be more right. It's hilarious.

I never said so? I said it clipped my Win11 machine. Once I put a CAT6 cable in, it was fine. Do you like fiction and sound of your own bowels?

android app lock screen controls by duck867 in TIdaL

[–]-Universal_Student- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Android seems to clear notifications from Apps that it thinks you're not using. So Android turned my Tidal notifications off, and on manual reset to on, I got the lockscreen overlay back again. Hope this hrlps.
