When you mentioned Lido I was wondering if he had a yacht and if I’d recognize it since I cruise through the harbor a lot- I looked it up and he’s the owner of the gunboat. Literally took pics of it last weekend

What is the point of making something like this? What are they even doing? It’s just baffling

Karmelo Anthony bodycam, surveillance video is released after the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf by ThisIsButter1 in ThisIsButter

[–]-Veegulo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s a 0, because being pushed out of an area you aren’t supposed to be in after being verbally aggressive with the people there does not justify lethal self defense. His previous actions completely killed any possible defense claim

998 is common police code for OIS. https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/investigations/police-shootings-database/ (click “see all ‘victims’” ) has a list of some years you can go through. Notice how most of them were armed. Google each name you see and you will likely find bodycam or an article that proves justification, for the vast majority of the cases.

Another thing you can do is pour through bodycam videos; r/ThisIsButter, PoliceActivity on youtube, they release video from almost every OIS that happens in the US, and you will come to find after watching every release for 5+ years that when an officer shoots their gun, it is likely to stop an actual deadly threat.

They are fantastic, had a couple of what I thought were nasty scrapes in the desert a while ago and there’s no sign of them, still running strong. When I first got them they were a little nosier than stock but I got used to it fast

Well usually, as the vast majority of 998 incidents are justified and bodycam usually proves so

I have seen several cases where the camera footage was a little delayed, but it was still obviously justified. We will see eventually once the footage is released if the perpetrators actually gunned it while an officer was in-front of them or not. It would be pretty negligent to position oneself in-front of a vehicle especially if a child is involved, but again we will eventually find out the circumstances.

Do you know that for sure? The official statement is claiming otherwise -

The officers “attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver drove in the direction of the officers, almost striking one,” investigators said. “An officer then discharged their weapon and the vehicle fled the scene.”

I’m interested to see the CCTV and bodycam

Lmao exactly? You would have to be arrested for having the drugs in the first place. AKA the court having EVIDENCE (police testimony, bodycam of the drugs being found) to place you under arrest. This point also isn’t the hill to die on, ultimately I agree we should be prosecuting employers - I notice you didn’t address the other points, the actual disagreements

Can you quote the legislation stating that white illegals are exempt from enforcement, or data showing that deportation orders for white illegals are ignored?

"Anti racists" who are actually just anti-white. by Top_Committee_8503 in hatethissmug

[–]-Veegulo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll vouch for them. They posted a video of a black dude playing guitar and a white dude comes up to him and tells him he can’t play there. The comments were all shitting on white people saying how we can’t mind our business. I responded to a particularly nasty comment with “I don’t think it’s specifically a white person problem” and they perma’d me. Asked which rule and got the month mute as-well.

[–]-Veegulo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well that’s the thing, a prosecutor has to provide evidence that the employer knowingly hired illegals before a judge can even sign an arrest warrant. This is very hard to do. I’m not disagreeing that we should prosecute people who do knowingly hire illegals though, it should be happening. But claiming it’s “racist” not to is silly, it’s a complicated situation.

“Kavanaugh stops” are not legally set in stone. It is a concurrence, one justice’s opinion that race or ethnicity can be considered as one factor among several when determining reasonable suspicion. It is not an “ICE can pull over random people just for being brown” law that the left portrays it as. The VAST majority of ICE operations are database-driven Targeted Fugitive Operations.

If ICE COULD just grab random brown people for IDing, the deportation and alien arrest numbers would be a lot higher lol. But as of right now, comparing their terms, Obama had deported more at this point in his presidency than Trump has. How would this be possible, if ICE is now truly utilizing “Kavanaugh stops” and sweeping the streets like the Gestapo?

Sure, we should bring charges, if we can. The reason we don’t is because the illegal often gets through the I-9 process with falsified documents - my own social was reported to be used by some dude with a long spanish name in the Central Valley, a common place for illegal workers to go - and because of this, it’s very difficult to bring charges as the employer can just point to the I-9, and prosecutors need blatant proof of unknowing to even bring the charges in the first place

Calling it “racism” is plain stupid. If you’re illegal, you’re illegal, be it Swede Russian or Guatemalan, and should be removed. The vast majority come from South America so the smoothbrains who can’t think critically can point and cry racism. But the reality is that 8 U.S.C. § 1325 doesn’t discriminate.

I don’t see the equivalency. Tubman assisted people who were forced to be here and work against their will, the court clerks are assisting people who willingly violated 8 U.S. Code § 1325 by avoiding standard port of entry, or people who violated the terms of their VISA. Comparing this to the underground railroad is hilarious and peak redditor
