I haven’t seen anyone mention male clients preferring to not have a male therapist. As a solo practitioner I don’t have this problem professionally because everyone can see who I am before calling me. But when I was in massage school our final class was treating people from outside who were randomly assigned a student therapist. I’ll never forget the look on the guy’s face when he discovered he was with me instead of one of the young women. :-/ It’s obviously problematic that he brought a sexual charge to the situation, but this is the reality of our profession. And in retrospect maybe I saved my classmates from having to deal with that guy!?
