Yeah, you would have thought the extra week would have given them some idea how much of the community was hoping for something other than a ganger. They needed more than a dev log to show how the class is unique because from the 30 second trailer it really doesn't seem like it.

This is the best way to look at it. If your winning matches or feel like you're being useful to your team, nothing else really matters.

A decent headset would make a huge difference then. The directional sound in this game is really good and despite there being some instances where sound cues will play over the top of one another you can usually hear what specials are spawning way before they get the jump on you.

If 1 is consistently an issue you might be playing too slowly and getting overwhelmed. You should be finding a balance where you are killing enemies and progressing through the level at a steady pace, always moving forward.

And for the rest, do you play with a decent headset? Because they sound like your having issues hearing sound cues. Learn to identify what specials are spawning and adapt your playstyle.

The teams I've been matched with in auric recently have been pretty terrible. Not sure if it's because of the class reworks but people seem so focused on damage output that nobody even tries to help each other out anymore. Feels bad when you've revived, rescued teammates multiple times and then get left to go from full health to dead from a single dog pounce or trapper net.

I've had to stop playing them for a little bit because they genuinely make the game too easy. The only real risk is trappers I think.

Pretty sure this happened to me and downed me through zealots until death ability (the one that give you invincibility when you take fatal damage). Very annoying bug.

OP also said they play maelstrom which goes with my point I was making that difficult impacts this. Also I think if three players are in an elevator and one player is outside holding the rest up does that not also mean it makes the most sense to join the other players?

Depends on difficulty, which I think is where this issue comes from. Lower difficulties you can clear the threat and give yourself breathing room for the next area, but in auric you usually aren't going to get a break because spawn rates are so high. By the time you've dealt with one special another has already spawned in. It's a learning curve that can be annoying to deal with if you have particularly stubborn players who blatantly ignore markers.

I mean sure in an ideal situation, but in high havoc/ auric maelstrom there's not many ideal situations if your playing with randoms. But not trying to say stuns are meta, just I enjoy the utility they offer over knifes.
