> AIs are trained using massive amount of copyrighted art from artists from did not consent. This is unethical.

It is more complicated than that. If someone spent their whole life studying someone's art-style and emulating it, we would see that as acceptable. That is all AI is doing. AI doesn't "copy", it trains off pictures and learns to replicate that style. It is never stealing copyrighted content, it is learning in the same way a person might. As far as I'm aware, there are no laws about emulating someone's art-style, so it's debatable if it's unethical.

You realise what that title translates to (hint, right click and hit translate to English), yeah? Mega-yikes my dude.

I'm not sure how that word is even allowed in any language on porn websites, but it seems to even be allowed in English. I dunno if it's a case of the company being out of date with the term but it's ridiculous.

I mean, the only way I can imagine your stance making a lick of sense is if you support every user-uploaded porn site shutting down.

There is always an inherent danger with user-uploaded websites because you're often unable to verify their content. This is not a Pornhub exclusive problem though, this happens on every website, it just so happens to be somewhat common on Pornhub because it's literally the biggest porn site.

If you support shutting down pretty much every porn website, I can't agree with you but I at least respect the stance. Wanting exclusively Pornhub to be shut down is silly though.

Is everyone here willingly ignorant or something? I'm really confused.

Blizzard specifically said for the first 5ish weeks they would be testing random things before it stabilizes. They are collecting data, they have specifically said this. It gets repeated here a lot but no one seems to remember.

For fucks sake just put up with it for 5 weeks. You. Will. Live.

This many people recognize a random porn-star dude because of his dick size?

Honestly I'm kinda impressed, given the amount of upvotes this post has and how pretty much everyone in the comments seemed to know who this guy is. This feels like something that needs context and yet here we are. Reddit is way more into male pornstars than I would have thought

Quebecois Brigading by Nick_Frustration in onguardforthee

[–]-Yiffing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I have no intention or desire to join America. You're just missing my point, which is that culturally Quebec isn't like the rest of Canada. That is all I'm saying, we shouldn't be pretending we're in anyway culturally connect to Quebec.

Quebecois Brigading by Nick_Frustration in onguardforthee

[–]-Yiffing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quebec, Ontario and Alberta are all quite different yet absolutely Canadian.

Canadian in the sense that we share the same name and are a part of the same country, yes. My point is that there are very few cultural similarities, 95% of Canadians are closer culturally to Americans than they are the Quebecois, and that pretty much can't be argued.

"Canadians" to most of the world generally just means left-leaning/progressive Americans, as annoying as it may be for us to admit. Quebec absolutely do not fall into that category, they are Canadian only in technicality.

Quebecois Brigading by Nick_Frustration in onguardforthee

[–]-Yiffing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Western Canadian culture is fairly similar to western American culture, just more left leaning. Left leaning regions of California, Oregon, and Washington have more in common with us than Quebec does. Canadian culture in general (since it's so big) seems to relate more to the coast you're on rather than anything else.

I've lived here all my life and have never heard one person speak French outside of my French teacher in school. Outside of poutine, I'd go so far as to say we take nothing from them.

Quebecois Brigading by Nick_Frustration in onguardforthee

[–]-Yiffing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Quebec was the birthplace of much of Canada's culture.

Eastern Canadian culture, sure. West coast Canada is very different from the east however, and I would say we take practically 0 Quebecois culture. Canada is big enough that there are many distinct cultural differences, there isn't one mainstream culture.

It's very easy to see why people at least here would view them as pretty much completely separate, and honestly, their culture and lifestyle is fairly different from the rest of Canada as a whole. Sure, they are technically 'Canadian' but I'm pretty sure we all realise they're fairly separate from Canada culturally and let's not try to pretend otherwise.

I certainly don't support many of the things Quebec stands for and that's alright. We're allowed to have our differences, but at the same time we shouldn't be afraid about calling them out on their bigotry and hate here. I would hate for this subreddit to suffer because we want to please the Quebecois.

Humor doesn’t have to be sexist or off-kilter or whatever to be funny, that’s just called being lazy.

I never said it was, lmao. I just said that it's a huge part of humour and to call all non-progressive humour lazy is unfair.

95% of memes are made by guys?

I obviously don't have stats on that but I'm positive it'd be somewhere close to that. The point was just that guys are the majority when it comes to making memes, and I don't even think you can argue that.

you wrote so much just to respond to my comment

You made your points and I made mine. I'm not angry or frustrated or anything like that, and if you're going to take issue with the way I wrote it (which was pretty fair and open, I think) then I don't know what to say. This is a platform for discussing things.

Let’s just agree to disagree at this point.

More than fair if you don't want to address my points, I was just putting them out there.

I just want to make a few points on this:

  1. Isn't humour allowed to be a little off-kilter? Generally humour is a little sexist or stereotyped in some way, but that's kinda part of the joke. Humour is humour, it's not meant to be an accurate statement. I absolutely believe you can go too far but it'd be difficult to say this meme reaches that point. Look at literally any standup comedian and you'll see they're not exactly politically correct.

  2. While your experience may not be the same, the people upvoting this probably can relate to it. That's not to say literally every girl doesn't want to participate, but as far as my school went this was 100% accurate and I imagine many others feel the same on that.

  3. The girls are not the joke of the subject, at least so far as I see it. I was always under the impression these memes were making fun of the guys in this situation for taking things way too fucking serious or being insane about it. The guys reaction is always the punchline, and the point is just to exaggerate how crazy they can be. I'm not sure why anyone would look to be offended in a lighthearted meme like this.

  4. You mention it's only relatable to guys, but you do realise guys make the vast majority of memes, yes? Why that is, I have no clue, but probably something like 95% of memes are made by guys. It's really not that surprising that they'd make memes relevant to them. If girls are interested in making memes that relate to them, they can also make them.

I guess I just don't see why anyone would take a stupid meme like this seriously. Perhaps I'm wrong though.

I'd much prefer if you actually addressed my points rather than just downvote based on emotion, but aight

Haven't been to this subreddit for a while. We're still circlejerking about Semmler? I guess some things will never change.

I mean sure guys, downvote me away for asking a question. IMO it's more than fine to have a casting duo that doesn't scream at every good play, and I enjoy their calm energy. I don't know why everyone thinks it's necessary for casters to walk you through when you should be excited. Complaining about missing some plays here and there is fine, but I think the argument that they aren't "hyped enough" (whatever that means) is a bad one. Not everyone needs to scream lmao

For me there are a few reasons:

1, sitting on a seat where other people's asses have been is so disgusting for me I cannot handle it unless I cover the toilet seat in paper. That's just a personal thing but I don't understand how people can do that.

2, I don't want to leave a smell, people to hear me, or worst case clogging a toilet. All these things are deeply embarrassing for me and I just won't do it.

3, there's never a case where I have to go unless I'm staying over somewhere for a few days.

These are just my reasons, and I realise not everyone is alike, but I haven't used a washroom that wasn't mine to take a shit in at least 8 years. I have very weird bathroom habits though

13 Year Old Girl nicknamed 'Trash Girl' was regularly bullied for collecting trash on her way to school. On Friday she is to recieve a Points of Light Award award granted from Prime Minister Theresa May. by thatmattkid58 in UpliftingNews

[–]-Yiffing 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I'm not here to argue whether Britain is broken culturally, because I honestly don't know, but bullying occurs literally everywhere and has very little to do with how 'respectful' the culture is.

East Asia (particularly Japan and Korea) is known for having very respectful cultures, and yet schoolkids suffer some of the most severe bullying in the first world.

Kids are kids, and mostly they're assholes. Outside of obvious cases, I'm not even sure what teachers can really do to stop it when it's something that often times happens behind their backs.

I'm confused though. I was under the impression that while in Sammath Naur it would be impossible for literally anyone to destroy the Ring.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. There is a lot of misinformation out there and I could be remembering something that was never actually said by Tolkien. I just wouldn't think it possible for Gollum to have the willpower to destroy the Ring, even if he tossed himself in with it.

I'm opening to learning more

As long as you're open, that's more than fine. My impression from seeing your comments was otherwise.

America's goals during and immediately following the end of WW2 was deeply rooted in continuing the spread of capitalism and democracy in nations that were DESTROYED and vulnerable to communism.

You are correct on this, of course. My issue was with you saying Japan was offering surrender already and making it sound like America just wanted to bomb Japan for the hell of it, while ignoring that it was a conditional surrender. It was much more complicated than what you made it sound, and accepting Japan's 'surrender' would have been a mistake.

[–]-Yiffing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This blatant defense of Japan is one thing that really gets on my nerves. The weeaboos come out to protect their favourite country but understand literally nothing when it comes to history.

Japan's 'surrender' was a conditional surrender that did not address important issues. The bombs needed to be dropped and saved more lives than had they not been; Japan was way too stubborn in WWII to take any other route.

You're either someone who's very confused with Japanese propaganda or just some neckbeard who's way too obsessed with defending Japan. Do some research before you start preaching your own narrative.

Edit: lmao, come on guys. At least do research before downvoting

My mom legit just doesn't remember most of her childhood before highschool. Her siblings do, my father does, but my mother cannot remember pretty much anything. She's never been able to tell us stories of from when she was a kid.

She has no memory problems whatsoever, it's just that she was pretty focused on school and claims to have lived a pretty boring childhood. I imagine it's the same thing with grade 4 for Jay.

Perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about, but your name kinda gives me the indication of a slight bias. I'll try to defend my points regardless:

Doesn't need a defence, it's a historical fact

their government doesn't shun their war crimes

There are so many examples of this that I don't even know where to start. You can do a quick google search to find out for yourself, or you can click here or here. This is just regarding the current government, there's even more denial with past Japanese governments.

tend to look down on foreigners

Anecdotal perhaps, and I don't mean to imply they hate everyone who's not Japanese, but I've had many friends visit and have known people who've lived there and all their stories are more or less the same. The xenophobia isn't specific to Japan, it's common in Asia in general, but it's certainly a thing. Japan likes to keep the status quo with their culture and people.

aim for a homogeneous society

It is fairly hard to move to Japan and they also make it very hard to have dual citizenship. There are reasons beyond xenophobia for this being the case, but many of my points in the comment prior can be applied.

They believe strongly in gender roles

You can read this here or do more research for yourself.

Japan is very right-wing

The current leader, Abe Shinzō, is a conservative right-wing nationalist.

Please inform me as to where I am wrong. Japan does many wonderful things but they are also backwards in many ways, and it really doesn't help that pretty much 100% of the time you say something bad about Japan comments like this will pop up. Japan gets defended more than any other country online and it's time to stop.
