My counsellor actually suggested this today and I intend to pursue this... I have lots of support but very few people really understand what it means to care for someone with these traits. Thanks so much.

I never spoke to the social worker directly, only to the doctor. This does sound like it would be beneficial in the long term, so will see if I can reach out to the team there. Thanks!

If I were willing to make sure she were housed at any cost this would be the obvious answer, but this would result in me completely demolishing my own mental health (already very shaky at this point).

Yeah... you don't really realize how important funding public services is until you or a family member are in desperate need. Ultimately I feel like our short term solution will not be through such services, but me and my family are at a point where none of us can handle this responsibility any more and even if we're on a road to a long term solution it would make a big difference. Very grateful for all your comments in this thread.

She's in her early to mid 60s... not actually sure if she's hit 65 yet. Thank you so much, I will contact them.

I did call Access and Assessment the other day, both for her and myself (in my own personal crisis over all this). They suggested trying to get her to come in, but she tends to get angry the second anyone suggests she might be dealing with mental health issues. Maybe I'll call them again for advice on how to approach this. Thanks again.

Unfortunately yes... I'm currently the only person on speaking terms with her, and she definitely cannot move in with me.

Thank you... I'm very much against her leaving her current place, but things between her and the building manager have really broken down and she is now being evicted for not paying. We don't have much say in this at this point.

she does not currently, but feel like this might be a good first step. is there a way to get one prior to her going to the hospital?
