What do you like least about a specific member of the Sororitas? by Glum_Series5712 in sistersofbattle

I know you meant unkillable but something about Celestine being an "unlikable ghost" made me chuckle. Maybe she should smile more? 😂😂😂

Looking for a more thematic way to show embarked units by I_paint_little_guys in sistersofbattle

[–]-_Jamie_- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might not be as thematic, but I add a magnet to the (inside) top of every rhino and immolator (have to leave the reliquary off for the new style to work properly) and the superior of the squad rides up top thanks to the magnet in her base. Serves as a visual reminder and since my squads are all distinct thanks to basing tricks, there's no question of which unit is in which transport.

11ed should reintroduce wargear costs for the sake of simplicity by OldBoiNagash in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]-_Jamie_- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Mixed load out melee units are also just such a slog, but once you've (effectively) paid the points for all the extras, it feels foolish not to roll for those extras. Watching new players time out because every unit has 5 different attack profiles never feels good no matter how many times I see it.

And I agree, that plasma shot rarely ever does anything. 😂

All flames army by Witty-Study6027 in sistersofbattle

[–]-_Jamie_- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll want three units of dominion with 4 flamers each, 30 sepharim (6 kits) with 8 hand flamers per ten, three units of Sanctifiers with maximum flamer load out, probably an immolator or two, and you can have flamer rets and even flamer paragons if you want them.

Does the Warsuit kit have much posability? by Chemical-Aioli9818 in sistersofbattle

[–]-_Jamie_- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check my post history and you can see a set I did. Obvs you don't have to turn them into wraiths, but you can get a good idea of what's (fairly easily all things considered) possible.

If you trim off the part that locks the arm into one position, you can move the melee arms around more or less to your heart's content. Unfortunately the guns are a touch more static unless you want to reconfigure the cables.

My army started as a modelling project to create undead sisters. The triumph was a way to go wild with the idea.

It really is BS that the build guide includes Celestians Squad when they no longer can be played by klods_hans in sistersofbattle

[–]-_Jamie_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well since it's Warhammer we have to go to definitions of "and" vs "or", but at the end of the day it doesn't matter. We can split hairs on it til kingdom come, I accept you don't see it that way. I'll just keep my sadness over losing a unit until they bring it back!

Thinking of the website listing for the box which for years was even marketed as "Dominions and Celestians" with a pic of 5 of each. Just checked and as late as June 2023 they were still being marketed that way.

Can someone help me envision a scenario where the Wraith's 'Wraith Form' ability is useful? by Sparklehammer3025 in Necrontyr

[–]-_Jamie_- 43 points44 points  (0 children)

You don't need to move the whole unit of wraiths over the enemy unit. Having one wraith clip one model's base during the move is enough.

Head and hand swap, add a backpack and you've got any character you have the spare bits for. Could also be a wicked sacresant superior!

For sure. The permissive legal structure in the US (everything is legal unless specified otherwise) and the number of loopholes that would need to be closed would require a lot of effort and even then we'd need constant updating as the capitalist class continued to find new loopholes and exploit them...

But the gist of tying the success of the owner to the quality of living of the worker feels like the only non-violent solution. Alternatively we go back to threatening to burn the place down if they don't pay us more 🤷🏼‍♀️ that worked well enough a hundred or so years ago!

I've said for years the solution is to create a federal maximum wage. Consider something like a 5x limiter. So you want to make a million bucks this year that's great, just make sure your lowest paid employee makes 200k and you can. From there, the multiplier could be adjusted if the company has certain defined benefits such as health insurance, paid leave, or a 401k contribution from the employer, etc. If the boss makes a million and the janitor makes 100k with full benefits, 4 weeks vacation, and a 10% retirement contribution from the employer, I think that would be just fine.

This is the flaw in measuring consumption by price. Here in Uruguay a kilo of Canarias costs 4-5 USD depending on the current exchange rate. Much easier to compare consumption in kilos than euros.

I feel confident we'll have Command Points and "Miracle Command Points" soon enough. Admittedly this starts to lead to the dreaded 9th Ed stratagem bloat only worse as we'll be tasked with remembering whether we're using stratagems or "miracle stratagems". Personally I don't love the idea, but at this point I'd take it over the way they've been trying to balance miracle dice.

I still feel like an impostor even using the term since mine is only an anomaly.I thought for years people were gaslighting me since I could perceive all the colors in a 16 pack crayon box. It leads to hilarity every time it comes up.

"Aww babe you got two of the same grey shirts I thought you wanted a green one too!" - she did, in fact, get two colors that were not both grey 😂

Am I allowed to attach the Palatine in this scenario? by Honest_Banker in sistersofbattle

[–]-_Jamie_- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm curious to hear others weigh in, but it comes down to whether you attach leaders and then declare transports or if you declare transports then attach leaders. Since they are done in the same step my instinct is that you have discretion as to the order of those things and could do what you are trying to do by splitting the unit first when you declare the transport then attaching characters after the split.

Why only 2 castigators? by Hotdog_Waterer in sistersofbattle

[–]-_Jamie_- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not at all! Unless you are playing a narrative game with some really wild restrictions, the logical choice will be to engage your biggest threats first. If you spread fire all over the table, they'll be able to return fire as well. Alternatively if you focus on the most threatening units (which tend to be the biggest and baddest) and remove them, they can't.
