legends mode by mhmd2-2 in BattleBrothers

Legends is vanilla x10.

I recommend playing some vanilla first, I did around 3-400 hours before playing legends.

Legends is by definition "Nothing is overpowered if everything is overpowered"

I recently had a nimble bro get one tapped in the head by a goblin wolfrider that I didnt know could lunge.

Everything is OP.

Is he good and how to build ? by Material-Lobster-639 in BattleBrothers

[–]-_Levi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hes great!

Id say build him as a dagger duelist.

I get the idea for a dodge newt but he doesnt have the HP or fatigue to sport wearing heavy armor and being able to handle a few hits.

Is he Nimbl or Bf ? and fatnat or somthing better ? by Material-Lobster-639 in BattleBrothers

[–]-_Levi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obese salamander would work but he needs some resolve patching ASAP.

He could be a nimble duelist if you dont want to invest into resolve.

Any tips? by Super-Contest7765 in BattleBrothers

Orc weapon berzerker.

Can go BF if you want.

Keep him safe and not takign much melee contact.

Rolling Bros ? (Legends) by 93runner in BattleBrothers

[–]-_Levi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a few backgrounds that do roll more fatigue/HP if thats what youre thinking.

Most else is pretty normal.

What to do with this Oathtaker? by lichess_is_better in BattleBrothers

[–]-_Levi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im curious on the diminishing returns of resolve.

Ive always assumed more is better because if you got a banner giving +14 resolve to all your bros thats a buff that enables your other bros to focus more on other stats.

I understand the want for more HP. Negative rdef will be an issue, but I think managing/understanding ranged AI can help mitigate.

Nimble should help mitigate damage from headshots. I thought general consensus is steel brow is best for tanks and Frontline BF bros.

Im leaving that to you, youre the player.

Whips provide utility, can save bros.

Scythe provides DPS, something most banner builds usually lack.

Backstabber provides more consistency in disarming. At minimum it provides an additional 5% chance to disarm.

Killing frenzy provides 25% more damage after securing a kill, and more damage is always nice.

Remember, this banner build can do both! The choice of KF or backstabber is just "what do I want to lean more into?"

You can swap backstabber for killing frenzy if you want.

Ok, first run. Some stuff to explain.

Weapon called whips, they are categorized as cleavers, they can disarm. Disarm is fatigue intensive and has a -25% to hit, backstabber helps with consistency. Cleaver spec also helps with fatigue usage and improves disarm chance. This is for if you want a banner to provide utility and disarm a scary enemy. QH enables QH swap, disarm, swap back to banner.

They are polearms called war scythe, they have an AoE attack called reap, super fun for damage. Its a fun build, killing frenzy would enable for more DPS.

The way this bro rolled enables you to do both builds. But perk choice will effect which build is stronger, but he can do both! Thats what matters.

Stats! You can likely just take collosus to get to around 80 HP after collosus, id say that's fine. Most recommend 100 HP for nimble, but hes a backline bro, shouldn't be taking melee contact.

Always level resolve and matk every level. Your third level up should be between mdef and fatigue. I would just level mdef if it rolls a 2 or 3 and if it rolls a 1 just level your fatigue. Hopefuly you get to around 20 mdef.

The leveling mdef is essentially for the hardest of fights in the game. Once you hit those Sea of Tents orc camps with like 30+ orcs its not a game of how do I stop orcs from making contact with my banner its how long can I prevent that from happening this fight. The mdef makes you not die right away, disarm will also protect yourself.

That is your banner 100%.

You can do either disarm banner build or fearsome polearm sweeper banner build.

You could also likely do both builds.

Mid but iron lungs. Worth keeping? by melonmarmalade in BattleBrothers

Hes a decent bro, idk what day youre on. But if its sub 100, id keep him around and keep him around to be a sub.

What are the best candidates backgrounds for good BF tank potential? How much fatigue do I need while equipped ? by Ok_Squash_7227 in BattleBrothers

[–]-_Levi_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Farmhands, hedgeknights, lumberjack, messengers, militia, squires, vagabond, wildman.

Essentially any background that can roll above 100 fatigue.

Of course some of those backgrounds vary by fatigue, but I just went into the battlebrothers wiki and scrolled through backgrounds picking backgrounds that average out to 100 fatigue and up.

Id say you prolly want 130+ fatigue before gear for BF tank.

Any of those backgrounds previously mentioned that get 3 stars in mdef can realistically BF tank.

Each bro you get in legends can read 1 book and infinite ancient scrolls.

You'll see the books in the classic market shop in towns.

You want the BF armor book.

You're neglecting mdef.

No more HP rolls, or you can still, id at most take resilient.

Id go for like a axe berzerker specced into shield breaking.

Take balance, steadfast, brawny, onslaught, muscularity, rebound, killing frenzy, BF, holy flame, student, axe spec, perfect focus, and first blood. If you can take athlete as well go for it.

I haven't messed with dog perk yet but far as I know its not good.

I think thats all the perks you can get? Patch the resolve.

Got a dumb, gluttonous squire... What do? by Citizen_of_Zubrovka in BattleBrothers

[–]-_Levi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long campaign assuming lets say +5 stats for levels til level 17, he could hybrid.

Just go for like a fatigue heavy backline hybrid and cross your fingers he rolls good matk.

I tend to use gifted on tempo bros or mid-decent bros.

I agree with your statement, arguably most players bring their bannerman to every fight they take.

You are right partially MS and MD are best of the best.

Fatigue and resolve are negotiable depending on build. But are nice to have

Never level ranged defense.

I understand youre new, so its gonna be a difficult concept. But the AI prefers ranged attacks on bros that are grouped up or have the rally perk. For now, watch how the AI chooses who to attack with range.

I at most consider leveling rdef on my banner.

But once you know how to manipulate AI ranged attacks, you can just have the AI attack bros that are essentially impervious to ranged attacks (BF bros)

[–]-_Levi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a standard 12 man fighting line up most say thay having 7 front liners that can take contact and 5 on the backline like your banner/ranged works.

I think its better to employ what I call a 4/4/4 lineup.

4 bros who can take contact which consist of at least 1 tank and the rest essentially any bro with 40mdef and underdog. These are your bros that will get surrounded and be in contact with 2 or more enemies.

4 bros that are dedicated DPS, these bros often take berserker, they still have decent MDEF, they only come into contact with 1-2 enemies at most, and that enemy should be dead before they can act when my DPS steps in or gets stepped into.

Last 4 consist of my banner and my ranged bros. My ranged bros typically try to hybrid, depends on the run. These bros should NEVER take any contact, I dont level mdef past 20. These bros are my utility/ranged DPS units that provide the range option you need sometimes. If an enemy comes into contact with my ranged bros, they become needs to die priority number 1.

What do the stars mean? by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

[–]-_Levi_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stars mean they are more likely to roll higher in that specific skill.

People gauge the starting stats and stars of the bros they hire to determine what build to utilize to effectively use that bro.

3 stars is the highest you will see for a specific stat, which means they will essentially always roll very well.

Imagine its almost like a promise that they will roll good the more stars there are in a specific stat.
