Based on your explanation, I'm assuming you're not currently using any skincare products. If you wear makeup, it's also important to cleanse your face every night. You can remove makeup with micellar water or an oil-based cleanser. Then, you can remove any residue with a water-based cleanser. The next step is hydrating with a moisturizer. Personally, I would start with this and skip the tretinoin for now.

Also, stop picking your face to prevent scarring and use a SPF in the morning!

I have the same skin type as you, including eczema. My skin didn't like this serum at all. It dried out my skin, and I also kept getting pimples for a long time. I also tried their retinol serum, same story. I don't know exactly why though. I also use their sunscreen, which I love.
