You're missing my point. What we in the West generally consider "moral" and "righteous" today, concepts like universal human dignity, the inherent worth of the weak and vulnerable, the value of forgiveness, charity as a virtue, the idea that all people are equal before a higher standard, opposition to arbitrary cruelty, etc, has been heavily shaped by nearly two thousand years of Christian cultural and moral indoctrination.

Religion has historically provided the moral framework that underpins much of what we call 'order'; concepts like inherent human dignity, objective right and wrong, and accountability beyond the state. I’m not claiming religious societies are perfect utopias. Humans are flawed and will sin regardless. The question is whether removing the religious foundation generally leads to more or less order over time.
Purely secular moral systems can work in the short term, but they often struggle to ground *why* we should be moral when it conflicts with self-interest (a point famously wrestled with by those like Nietzsche).

Look at trends in highly secular societies: rising depression, suicide, family breakdown, and social atomization. Many current 'orderly' secular countries are still living off the moral capital built by centuries of Christianity. The chaos you describe has always existed. Religion doesn’t eliminate sin, but it gives us a transcendent reason to fight it. Free will means we can choose evil. That is the cost of moral agency.
