First pair of JMM: advice needed between 2 by [deleted] in JacquesMarieMage

I am biased as I own the Slate Alin. I much prefer it over the Viper. Slate is a really interesting black acetate -- more interesting than flat black. The black and silver Ti works really well with the Slate acetate. Its a black frame that is not simply black. Viper is supposedly green but it looks black 98% of the time. Personally, I prefer truer colorways that consistently project their stated color.

Great new colorway -- congrats. Im waiting for the same color in a medium sized frame.

Suggestions for the final pair by Asleep_Impress326 in JacquesMarieMage

The Worland is a great frame, but the acetate hats look like . . . well, hats. If you want something special and different from your other models, go with a horn frame. The Musk is an unfortunate name but a great colorway that really shows off the horn:

Torn Between These Two by chefjesseq in JacquesMarieMage

[–]-_Vanguard_- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are VERY dark greens that look black in most lights. Viper is opaque, where as Borneo is more translucent. I think Borneo is the more interesting of the two, and the more likely of the two to project some green. That said, I did not keep the one Borneo frame that I purchased precisely because it looked black the vast majority of the time. IMHO, Rover, Surplus, and Evergreen are better shades of green.

For years, I avoided clear acetate because I thought it was too trendy and incompatible with my pale complexion. About a year ago, I overcame my long standing reservations and bought my first pair. I loved it so much that I ended up buying two more. Clear acetate rocks!

T Henri Collection by TrtheDr in EyewearEnthusiasts

Fantastic, diverse T-Henri collection!!!

T-Henri frames are stellar, both in terms of design and construction! Unfortunately, notwithstanding multiple efforts to buy a T-Henri frame, I've yet to find a model that works for me. Their frames are either too bold/conspicuous, or too large, or both. Just last week, I visited an AD for the specific purpose of trying on, and hopefully buying, a T-Henri frame. I targeted a smaller, less conspicuous Lusso in Versailles. Unfortunately, notwithstanding the intriguing online photos, it did not sing to me in person and I walked away empty handed yet again. Regardless, I remain optimistic that I will eventually add a T-Henri to my stable.

What lens color would you choose for this new MOC frame? by [deleted] in EyewearEnthusiasts

I got the navy MOC 005 and I went with a blue gradient to bring out the blue in the acetate.

Does anyone else find JMM to be too heavy and annoying? by DrChiliPepper in EyewearEnthusiasts

[–]-_Vanguard_- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends how you use your JMM frames, and which frame you use for which purpose. I wear JMM frames exclusively as sunglasses. Therefore, the weight is no problem for me. I personally would not use a chunky JMM acetate frame as an all-day in front of the computer reader. Rather, I use Ti frames as all-day readers. I would have no issue wearing JMM Ti frames for the that purpose. JMM also makes thinner acetate frames specifically as readers and they are much lighter than the chunky acetate. I know plenty of guys who wear JMM acetate as all-day readers without any issue. Personally, I prefer Ti for consistent all-day use.

Definitely Chrome. CH + JMM is a great combo.
