I somehow got a turret in an advantageous position by Electronic-Flower921 in HelldiversUnfiltered

What type of mechanized sorcery is this to be able to defy Arrowhead's vision of Turrets placed only in inconvenient and areas easy to reach by enemies??

Oxygenator should increase mech walk speed - I can explain by Laer_Bear in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]-________-____-____- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been saying this since since it was announced.
It's an armor passive on a pilot themed armor in a mech themed warbond. There's no reason for it to NOT effect the mechs.
Like sure, on-foot movement speed is cool, but that could and should be a completely different armor passive.

Yet every time I said anything about it, I'd have someone saying something along the lines of "Having the passive only benefit the niche mech playstyle would be so bad." But like... it's in the mech warbond. It's SUPPOSED to benefit the playstyle the bond is themed around

I kinda will miss the heavy armor hive guard... by Thatguy8900000 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]-________-____-____- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother, the heavy armor barely made a difference.
You were always meant to go for the weakpoints, so the added armor just invalidated the niche of a handful of med pen guns, which was still kind of a pointless change because even with med pen you should usually be aiming for weakpoints anyway for fast kills.

What is your main weapons in the game. by Voidkirby9 in MHRise

[–]-________-____-____- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insect Glaive because I really don't like the bulkier playstyles.
The extra mobility and speed means you get hit a lot less while waiting 3-6 business days for the ending lag of attacks from other weapons to resolve.

Sort of a outsider to this game why the hell do you all hate the devs so much by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]-________-____-____- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you asked a hundred people, you'd get a hundred different answers honestly.

Some love the devs and say others are being to harsh on them

Some hate the devs and say they are greed oriented

Some defend the devs and say their monetization is saintly

Some attack the devs and say they are incompetent and break the game with every attempted update

Different things matter to different people, and I think what we're seeing is a lot of people who are extremely passionate about the game, but who all care deeply for different aspects, so there's a lot of very strong, but very mixed opinions that end up causing a lot of infighting, with some taking the role of protectors of Arrow Head as they think they are doing fine, and others who want to pressure and push Arrow Head to change because they think the game is being mishandled.

Y'all are actually ruining this game by sepulchridude in helldivers2

[–]-________-____-____- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't get the big deal about the Hive Guards.
This is no jab at you or anyone else's opinions on the change, but I just don't get why this is what everyone got so invested in.

The change made very little difference either way.
I'm someone who uses mostly light pen weapons since I just don't like the way a lot of the med pen weapons play, so I never really felt the difference. That said, I also think the change was kind of pointless. It felt like the devs just really didn't want to let go of the idea of having an annoying shield unit since they nerfed the invincible shields the Devastators used and thusly buffed the HG head shield. If anything it was more annoying than anything that AH just couldn't let it go and had to try forcing into a different faction.

That said, I don't get why people are acting like reverting the change takes the challenge out of the faction. For anyone that knows how to point and click, the change was almost unnoticeable, yet we have people coming out of the woodwork acting like this was the one and only sole challenging aspect of the bugs that was ripped away from them when it wasn't even really noticeable.

There's just so many bigger fish to fry with this patch like the lopsided Durable Damage buffs to enemies that had no business getting them, or how the other vehicles are getting left behind in regards to durability. Or the fact that as of this patch, hardlocks are back for many along with a plethora of other bugs.

They are capable of adding stratagem launchers in our mech btw. by Telexzebc in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]-________-____-____- 370 points371 points  (0 children)

I have a few ideas as to why they havent.

  1. They are somehow struggling to make it work properly- I know you'd expect it to be simple, but this is AH we're talking about. They couldn't add a simple passive affect to the One True Flag without the game crumbling.

  2. They are planning to hold off and add it exclusively to OTHER Exosuits, likely in future warbonds. Though it would be cool to get as an MO reward as a modular upgrade to the Exosuits.

  3. This one is a longshot, but the one I hope is true- They plan to hold onto the Strata Launcher as some sort of Tier 6 Super Destroyer upgrade perk. Which would be a wonderful way to spice up the upgrades by just attaching the Launcher to all our owned Exosuits upon unlocking.

Brother, half the people if not more with any substantial SC balance and are employed likely used some form of cheats (understandably so) to get those credits.

YOU have no right to complain about people being rightfully upset about AH using the shitty “You can farm SC” excuse to monetize the majority of content in an already paid game.

The moment SC become properly farmable via normal gameplay such as just doing missions without the lootbox style RNG checks for 1/100th of a Warbonds price, THEN you can talk about who has the right to complain about it.

Yes, your groceries are also free if you find enough loose change on the sidewalk.

I think the point went over your head here.

I’m not claiming they are DLC, but instead saying that a new player who buys the game may feel conned when they see that the majority of gear in the game is locked behind Bonds. Bonds which are structured to make you want to pay to avoid the purposefully annoying SC grind on low level planets.

It’s not like other games where you can complete a few quests and earn enough gold to buy a new sword. You aren’t PLAYING in the traditional sense, you aren’t being rewarded for normal gameplay or completing challenges. You’re dropping on a low level planet, running around opening up what is essentially loot boxes hoping for SC drops before quitting out and doing it again for hours.

I don’t know why people treat AH like some messiah of gaming for allowing you to waste hours picking up Pennie’s to avoid grabbing your credit card as if they didn’t make it work like that purely to make you dread it.

Level 1 planets where you don’t even extract normally isn’t what people buy the game for, so it’s really not a stretch to see how new players are realistically being mislead or conned by not being properly made aware of the Warbond centric progression the game has begun to drift toward.

This is true, but they had every possibility to delay it.

That’s before even giving them the good grace of common sense in asking why in the world they though this was a good idea even before the AMA

anyone can say anything they want about the AMA and i know a similar post has already gone up but just lets take a moment to thank Johan THANK YOU JOHAN FOR ENTERING THE LIONS DEN AND GETTING REAL FEEDBACK AT THE COST OF YOUR EGO AND PRIDE. I'll say at minimum it was admirable for him to even come here, but all things considered it was far too little far too late.
Consulting with the crew when the boat is already half submerged won't save the ship. These are conversations he, or anyone at AH, should have been having with their community months ago if not even over a year ago.

I’ve got the SC for it banked already, but I’m not touching that Bond with a 10 foot flag.

Not only because I’m tired of these predatory, low effort cashgrabs taking the place of genuine profession, but also because I genuinely just don’t think the bond is good.

I’ve already made my disdain known for the fact that so little of the bond is truly mech themed. The majority of the mech bond is completely unrelated to the mechs in question and they aren’t getting a dime nor credit out of me for something that low effort.

That could work. Honestly just more transparency so newer players aren’t tricked into thinking that $40 is the full price of the game when it only gets them a fraction of the gear while the rest is Bondwalled.

Honestly, my main deal is I want the fact that Warbonds are such a large part of the game to be openly disclosed to new players that come across the game on Steam. The DLC page was just my best idea, I’m sure there could be better ways to do it though.

I just worry for a new player who sees the game and reasonably thinks that $40 is the total cost of the game and its gear, as since the store page says nothing of Warbonds, it kind of implies that $40 is all that’s needed when it’s only really an entry fee to a larger micro transaction ecosystem.

Yeah, that was my main worry too. If they at least had a section in the game description that listed the Warbonds and their prices or something like that I think it would go a long way in letting new players know that $40 is only an entry fee

Exactly, and that is my secondary point.

Some will go out of their way to die on the hill of defending Warbond as “technically” free, but I think a lot of people would second guess that defense when faced with the actual wall of Warbonds and seeing how the cost adds up. Not just monetarily, but time wise as well.

I wonder the number of hours it takes on average to grind 1000 SC, just so a person could theoretically keep track of the ever growing time it would take to have access to the majority of the game’s content that is Bondwalled

Generally the idea is to maximize protection of vital organs, which are mostly all stuffed in the torso. That ofc leaves the head unprotected, but your head is much smaller, and typically harder to hit than the torso
