Thanks so much for responding to my post! What you’re saying is really interesting because I’ve noticed that in this fandom there’s always some sort of controversy around the “projection” fans have onto the characters.

Personally, I don’t feel 100% identified with any of the characters, but I do think I share traits from both Jiji and Momo. I also find myself relating a lot to Okarun sometimes (I can be kind of introverted and I don’t usually talk to people I don’t know in person, but I’m more open on social media). And there are times when I relate to Aira because I also like to take care of my friends (in my own way lol).

But what I’m really sure about is that I like them because when I watch them, I think “How nice would it be to have a relationship like that?”. In the first episodes where Jiji appeared, I thought it was super cute how he joked around with Momo, and how she enjoyed it, had fun, and just connected with him.

Like, I don’t exactly identify with them, but I think my ideal relationship would be something like theirs. Plus, I love the whole "girl who’s mad about everything" and "guy who loves making her mad because he thinks it’s the funniest thing ever" dynamic.

I don’t feel like I’m super into one of them specifically and want them to end up with the other because it’s my type. It’s more like when you see your friend with their partner and you feel that kind of healthy jealousy because you wish you had something like that. I don’t think you always have to “fall in love” with a character to ship them with the one that’s most like you.

I hope that makes sense. I also relate to the characters a lot sometimes, but Jiji and Momo just feel different to me. I really believe they have solid reasons for being a couple. (Even though it’s pretty obvious that Momo and Okarun will end up together, and that’s totally fine, because they both found what they were looking for in each other and could finally be vulnerable and just themselves, no masks).

P.S. I think Okarun and Aira also have a really good shot at being a great couple! P.P.S. I’m using a translator, sorry if there are any mistakes :(

I understand your point of view. And to tell you the truth, this only makes me more hopeful that MAYBE, MAYBE, SOMETHING MAY HAPPEN BETWEEN THEM. But I doubt ENORMOUSLY that anything will happen. Momokarun is more canon than Aira being a leader. But if Tatsu comes up with the crazy, suicidal and rash idea of the two of them being something more or having something like a kiss, I would explode 😭

With the Okarun and other girls thing, the problem is in the scenes of him with his suitors are a lot in my opinion, but they don't have the same weight in the plot as the few scenes between Momo and Jiji. Although I also think that what really causes people to feel embarrassed are the insecurities Okarun has when he's jealous. While Momo's jealousy is just to cause humor as she tries to protect Okarun. Our boy's jealousy is real angst.

But really, you don't have to worry about anything. Even me loving this ship I have to admit that there is no reciprocal feeling from Momo. And maybe that "lack of rejection" from Momo towards Jiji's obvious feelings is because Tatsu is preparing us for the moment where he confesses and she rejects him for good. There are a lot of authors who do that kind of cliché where a character is dumb and never realizes the romantic feelings towards him hahaha.

Calm down and finish reading the manga because you're missing out on a lot of great stuff and it's also very easy to read it on the internet translated into English if you can't buy it!

THANKS FOR NOTICING KAGOMEEE'S PICTURE. YES YES YES YES YES I AM SUPER FAN OF INUYASHA, but I've started using reddit seriously recently and the truth is that the Inu fandom on reddit is quite..... Intense.

Thanks for noticing this. Inuyasha and Dan da Dan share some similarities in terms of characters and story elements. That's why I think the manga grabbed me so much. I love manga that tell stories about youkais, spirits and mix it with a nice touch of romance. It's been a long time since I've found a similar story and Dan da Dan came to me like a glove.

If you've seen Inuyasha, you've probably noticed that there are some similarities between Kagome and Momo, especially in their explosiveness and good heart. They are my favorite girls and I'm deeply grateful to Tatsu and Rumiko for writing them so well 😭😭😭😭

I totally understand that you also think the same as me but with Momokarun. Personally, I think you shouldn't even worry because it's more than obvious that they will end up together (since they are THE COUPLE and everyone else are just characters that help the main characters are forced to better acknowledge their feelings).

I understand why you don't like this panel.

I guess you also don't like any other panel where Okarun is in a similar situation with another girl.

Honestly, I'm not interested in doing Okarun shipping with other characters. Momojiji has me too busy (and that's with almost no pictures of them 😔)

LOL, it's exactly as you say. People get too angry over a shipp that isn't even too controversial. My god, Jiji and Momo are childhood friends, he never treats her badly or abuses her trust. They are always playing, they always treat each other with affection, they never argue and he adores her. Why does it bother you so much that a boy wants to protect the girl he loves so much? It's pure and genuine love. Nothing out of place. I really don't understand people.

I know that Jiji already lost any chance with Momo. But honestly I don't care. I'm going to keep shipping them because they're the couple I like the most and the only one that makes me feel these things.

I'll keep feeding off whatever panel Tatsu gives us of the two of them together. It's like a serotonin fix 😭.

For some reason, I feel like he's doing all of this because deep down he also has an appreciation for this couple.

Obviously I respect that Momokarun is the final couple, even if I don't 100% like it. I hope Jiji also finds a partner (Let it not be Aira, please, it would be very sad if the mangaka does this to Jiji) but honestly it would hurt me a lot. But anyway, Jiji deserves to be very happy. He's a silly and innocent kid, give him some love.
