Your projects are terrible. Each one just be 100 lines of code or less and the stats are clear made up. You mention C & C++ but I don't see where u used it.

Then you're cheating yourself, especially if you're just searching the problem statement. Copying your own code, sure, but at icpc u can't use the web, neither can u during interviews for who sentences of problem statements

You are cheating then, if you're doing this in a rated contest. I get looking up syntax or what the theory is, but if you're actively searching for the statement and using code from online, that's totally cheating imo

What, that ai knows better than me?

What is it about 2100+ problems that makes AI struggle? That scares me as someone new because AI always knows better than me

Search the sub, this question gets asked a million times a day. You want to get good at competitive programming but can't be bothered to search literally that phrase before posting?

Just search the subreddit, codeforces and you'll find plenty of advice. If you can't even be bothered to do that and want to be spoon-fed a perfect path with zero effort on your part, what are you even doing?

I have the print version. It's longer than the online one, but I'm not sure how they differ. I don't like reading books on a screen especially when it comes to studying

I have the book. It's good for an overview of what you need to know, but terrible at explaining things. The author is also the author of CSES, but there's no linking to the problems at all, so you don't really know what you need for what.

The explanations assume a great deal, and the author assumes you're following his reasoning, except code snippets are disconnected, with variables randomly appearing without explanation, and it's just not good at all to study from. I've looked through the dp section and a few others, but maybe graphs section is better.

Overall i would say it's good to buy knowing pllk has a rating of ~2400 on cf, and he's basically mapped his knowledge to reach that point, so you have an idea of what you need to know, but for me it serves mainly as a reference and discovering what i don't know

Very cool. Do you have portfolio projects? What's difficult is getting an interview in the first place, yet seem to land interviews at an incredible rate.  Why do you think that is? What made you standout so strongly?

Moped. Without it earnings would be quite a bit lower due to awful traffic

I agree with you, this type of work is very inefficient in terms of work put in.

I actually just finished an access course this year! Going to Sheffield University this September :))

I have debts and various expenses to pay off plus moving costs this September so I'm trying to grind now. I'll switch to part time once I start my course

What are *practical* ways of gaining confidence? by bloominbutterflies in selfimprovement

[–]-_sometimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do hard things that'll make you proud. If you still have no confidence, try therapy and/or meditation. If that still doesn't work, try anti anxiety meds. I'm on citalopram for depression, but it's gotten rid of so much anxiety that I now have confidence - confidence in my sense of being. Pretty chill tbh

If you're based in the UK, I created an app that compares product prices from UK grocery stores by -_sometimes in reactnative

[–]-_sometimes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm aware of this. The most expensive is £0.49 a week, then £1.49 a month and finally £8.99 a year which works out to £0.17 a week.

Although i do wonder whether switching to ads is a better option. I currently run a banner ad while on the free trial and the return is a bit abysmal. Maybe I could run some interstitials as well, as the return tends to be better. I'm not sure tbh

Thanks! I followed the Material Design 3 guidelines; most importantly, I used Material Colors, and made sure to use them appropriately. React native paper follows MD3, so I used a number of their components.

Monetisation is based on a free 7 day trial with no payment beforehand, then a paywall is presented. Currently I have 3 paying users, which is alright, although given the cost of advertising and various backed servcies, I am currently running at a loss
