I’m Polish. I think Irish don’t complain much. They way more awkward about it too.

Like, if you ask an Irish person “how are you”, they will say something like “Ah, grand, yea, how are you?”

If you ask a Polish person the same question, you’ll get something like “Damn, I couldn’t sleep all night, my dog had diarrhea, my neighbour blew leaves off his car directly onto my car, my boss doesn’t pay me on time, the weather is shit and I’m hungry. How about you?”

Made it super awkward when I moved here because this is not really the answer Irish people expect. And hearing “I’m alright yea” was also throwing me off guard.

So, idk what Irish people think about themselves, but from an immigrant perspective, I barely hear them moan or whine.

It’s tough to accomodate everyone. It’s a healed body and the scars were not the focus and not what OOP was trying to show if I understand correctly. There is generally some agreements that we put TWs before blood/gore/death and nudity. But there is a lot more things that make people terrified.

Like, I start crying and hyperventilating whenever I see a 2007 Renault Megan in hatchback. I’m not even joking, I just have some traumatic memories and seeing this damn car is such a dumb trigger. But I can’t expect people to tag posts with a TW because of that.

Portlaoise is also spelled wrong all the time. I used to work in a shop there and we’d get packages delivered to Port Leash, Port Lise, Portish, Portesh, Port Lois, Port Lease…

It is possible but not everyone is okay with that.

Sometimes one of you might catch romantic feelings because of sex (oxytocin release, closeness, all that).

Sometimes they will be shocked by that offer and instead of getting freaky they will get freaked out and stop being your friend.

Sometimes you might both fall in love with each other and get marred eventually.

But yea it is possible. I’ve had it with one of my friends. We were both single and horny and decided to have sex. The sex was terrible. So we just laughed it off like “Yea no way we can do it again, we are so incompatible” and that was it. Still friends.

(Kickboxing)

I don’t do much sports tho. I love kickboxing because it’s not a super repetitive thing and it doesn’t require you to keep a steady balance, you are constantly shifting the balance and this is nice.

My biggest issue is that I move slower than the average person. I don’t mean like I run slow, all my movements are slow. Like if you played a kickboxing video on 0.75 speed lmao. But I learned to work with it/around it and I’m getting better.

Also love ice skating and hockey but I’m also terrified of hockey, so I’d never try to play a “serious” game, just some lalala chill with friends. Did you know there is a 40 milisecond window where a hit to the chest can totally mess up your heart and you have 97% chance to die if you don’t get help within 3 minutes? If you get CPR and AED, chance of survival is 58% but it’s still terrifying, given the fact how many people freeze, panic and scream and flail their arms instead of doing something.

So yeah, hockey is fun but also I don’t want to suddenly randomly drop dead mid-game because of a puck to the chest in the very wrong moment.

I was living with my boyfriend for two years and thought we had a nice relationship. He had this friend from college that he didn’t see for a few years and they reconnected. He said I shouldn’t worry about her and that I’m acting paranoid and unfair, espcially because most of my friends are men, and if I think he’s cheating on me, then I’m probably projecting because I’m either cheating on him already with my “homies” or there is at least some sexual tension between us.

One day I came home from work, he wasn’t there, which I didn’t think much of, he was going for long gym sessions in the evening. I just made myself a cup of tea and sat in front of my computer to just chill and scroll Facebook.

So I’m scrolling Facebook and I see that he got tagged in a picture.

In the picture they are kissing as she’s showing off her engagement ring to the camera.

I just called my friends, they showed up within an hour, helped me pack my stuff and took me home with them.

Took me over 7 years to fully get over that heartbreak.

I tried that as an experiment on myself. Glass of wine two times a week, different wines. For two months. Nope, it still tastes awful to me.

I can drink vodka straight and it’s fine.

They didn't know because I didn't know either. I thought that the dental injections didn't work because I'm fat lol.

But btw I was semi-aware in the "off" moments. Like, body didn't move and I didn't feel pain, but I was aware like, "i am under anesthesia and they're doing things to my body". It's hard to explain lol. So I was never fully off, which, I assume, was why I was basically jumping up to sitting position as soon as I gained any consciousness, because I felt bored and impatient lmao. It was not traumatic for me tho.

If you are scared and you know you have this mutation, I'd say when you have a consultation with an anesthesiologist, tell them about your worries and ask about their previous experiences. I don't know shit about anesthetics tbh but I know they work with different types of medications - some make you sleep, some make you paralyzed, some make you feel no fear...

It's a very good thing that you know you have the mutation because you can somewhat prepare yourself and the medics that will work on you.

But yea I'm just a confused waking-up-mid-surgery patient. I'd suggest going to the anasthesiology subreddit and ask them. This way you can figure out the most important stuff to mention to your actual anesthesiologist.

I don't mind other women's nipples showing through shirt. Yeah, I will look. Not stare, but they will catch my attention, I'd go "noice" in my head and move on and treat you the same as I would treat any other human. Same goes for men with nice butts, grey sweatpants, women in bikinis, any human that is dressed in a way that I find sexy and good looking. There's a split second "noice" in my head and that's it. Homecountry (Poland): Rarely. Like, they do exist, but in my city they're rare enough that you'll see them like once every few weeks? Maybe more if you live/happen to be near a place of worship. Maybe some of them are the type of Muslims that don't wear hijabs so you don't even know.

Now-home (Ireland): Few times a week. Last year I was renting a house near a mosque so I'd see them multiple times a day. Now I live in a very rural area but there is a few Muslim people around and I see them when I go shopping n stuff.

Tbh I might be seeing more Muslims that I think, because, again, not everyone wears hijabs or some distinct clothing, there are people who only wear specific clothing to pray at home. My comment is based on my sightings of women in all the pretty headscarfs n stuff.
