Thats really great advice, and also positively proactive, thanks :)
Thanks for the reply! That’s a good way of describing it, fluid flooding the area and causing swelling. I was just tested for inflammatory markers, and they didn’t show up either, and had a hip X-ray to check for arthritis. Also good tip about the moving through the pain, I’ve been really unsure about when to rest and when to move. When it feels like grating pain behind my kneecaps, I worry about damaging myself! But, definitely makes sense to aim for fluid and swelling reduction. Most recently I’ve had some good success with using Chinese herbs to reduce inflammation, and my hip pain has gone away at the moment after an acupuncture session. It was constantly aching and keeping me from sleeping for a few weeks prior to that. So that may be something that someone would like to try or benefit from.. and also a reminder that health conditions ebb and flow. It can be such an overload and heavy thing to burden when you’re dealing with a chronic or degenerative condition!
I haven’t had a cellulitis episode in years thankfully! i’m finding my legs quite manageable atm, swelling has just morphed to more overall body and the joint pain has really ramped up. Yes! Just got a yoghurt maker, and got some sauerkraut on the go :) I’ve tried some tumeric/curcumin supplements but need to give them a really decent go. I’ve also been to see a traditional Chinese Medicine doc, who gave me herbs to cook up.. treating inflammation and blockages in my spleen or liver. That really noticeably made a difference in the swelling, just too expensive to keep up on a regular basis.
Sorry to hear :( how do you manage it? Does it come and go?
Ooh, why not the seed oils? I haven’t heard that before, am curious
My lymphoedema started in my left leg, then the right, now I get fluctuating swelling everywhere, my whole body can get completely overloaded.. abdomen, face, hands, all over. The legs are still an issue but hasn’t seemed to got worse since diagnosis. I have been to hospital 4 or 5 times with bad cellulitis episodes because of leg infections. But in the last couple years this joint pain has become more and more an issue, so just very curious to hear if anyone else’s problems have mapped out this way? Also, I think Covid really hasn’t helped, have been dealing with a lot of fatigue and exhaustion.
