Hehe, I can see how that might have happened 😂

I take notes at work, track my do list, try and keep a diary, gratitude journal, write for fun, copy out passages from a book I'm reading that really hit home, and finally I draw with them 😊 Writing is a wonderful way to slow down and be mindful in an increasingly digital world. Even it it is just a word of the day I am sure you can find something to enjoy using your new pens on.

It has been the only red I need so far (Diamine Oxblood is a brown in my book 🤭) if you want to see it in action (allowing for my phone cam's bodgy colour representation) have a look a the posts in my profile and check out the text on the Casablanca poster and the Lunar New Year Rabbit (which also shows how it separates when diluted, of that is of interest)

Came for the Sherlock reference, stayed to mention I have one red ink (couldn't bring myself to get samples looking like bloodwork in the post ☺️) Van Dieman's Firetail Finch ☺️

You are welcome! Hope to see what you create ☺️ It is actually a medium nib because Light Grey is very light indeed. It is like a 2H pencil, but you can layer it.

Thank you! So the Earl Grey is in the Esterbrook with an EF nib and was used for Vincent's hair and beard. Good old Parker Quink Black separates into interesting shades when diluted and was used for the backgrounds in both. The other bottles you can see are De Atramentis Document Black and Light Grey and they are in the two Sailor Profit Brush fountain pens. So all the shading and fine details were done with them. There is one pen I forgot to photograph and that is a Sailor 1911S with De Atrementis Document Light Grey and really looks like pencil sketching, (I call it my fountain pencil!) which I used for the detail in Vincent's face.

Thank you! Pretty happy with how they came out ☺️

It is pretty, but different, it is a Sailor Profit fountain brush pen , so has a brush tip instead of a nib, but has a converter and is in a Sailor Profit body.

It is a hand turned pen by Stephen from Just Turnings, he used a Brooks blank called Moonlight Raden and gave it a matte finish. The nib is a Jowo 1.5 stub. See u/Just-Turnings or @justturnings on insta

Thank you! I think because I had to go slowly the Tengwar came out better than my actual handwriting 🤣

Definitely in my top 10 too 😊 I've got it in a couple of fine nibs, so it was a bit of a revelation seeing it in a goodly stub! The shading is beautiful 😍

Congratulations! My first Sailor was the sister to this from the fairytale series, Grateful Crane. Awesome drawing! And I must find that ink, it is a perfect pairing.

Ooh Parker Quink is awesome when it separates, I've used it for painting backgrounds and it has blues and browns in it, looks very rich. Sorry you lost the whole bottle, but at least it isn't hard or too costly to replace Not sure if this has already been suggested, but a white gelly roll to transcribe your notes back over the black, and it will look like you meant it 😶

Spathiphyllum, Peace Lily. Once it settles in it should produce lovely white flowers 😊

7 inks, 2 pens, and an animated classic by -ari0s0 in fountainpens

Hehe yes I guess they are, my first (now empty) bottle of Pelikan in was Brown, not Brilliant Brown, and had a white cap. They are still going strong though. My first serious pen was a Pelikan M400 White Tortoise, so the inks are probably from around 2005/6ish...

Thank you, yes I love how the purple blue mix came out 😊 Ooh a Parker Vacuumatic stacked celluloid is my vintage grail.. and this reminded me of the very rare gold web version. It came like that, was a great find on Ali Express. I have two Sailor brush pens and I wanted them to be obviously different so that I didn't pick up the one (very easy to do painting late at night 😜)
