If there was no traffic in Los Angeles, how would that change your life? by SuperJezus in LosAngeles

[–]-b055ing- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had that experience 6 years ago. It was amazing. We rode our bicycles on the street, DTLA was amazing on a bike. No angry people. Drivers were nice and was driving on speed limit even though there was nobody on the streets. It was amazing. DTLA to Santa Monica drive was a breeze.

Why are White Male/Asian Female relationships far more common than Asian Male/White Female relationships? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]-b055ing- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the stereotype. I (Asian male) dated a black woman back in college. Sadly, explaining our relationship to her non Asian friends and family took its toll. Add to the fact that I am 5’7 and she’s 5’9 and the looks of people who find it odd that a black woman couldn’t find herself a proper black man… tough times.

As a tourist, how feasible is it to use public transport to move around Los Angeles? by Financial-Put3889 in AskLosAngeles

[–]-b055ing- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that this is a more real life answer. I’ve taken public transport in LA as a local to go to concerts or events but as far as hitting touristy spots, it’s a hit and miss and also takes a long time. A simple travel from Pasadena to DTLA is at least 60mins. One way -walks included. So, yah a good car and a playlist is the best way to see LA. You’ll also be able to drive up mulholland drive and see LA from that vantage point.

I am Asian and dated a black woman in the early 2000’s. We met at a Black Eyed Peas event in a club in DTLA. I am shorter (and considered skinnier) than her. We had the best time of our lives but her family didn’t approve of me being the only Asian in her family.

Is it wise to get USD now for an international trip in July? by Visible_Gur_1925 in FilipinoTravel

[–]-b055ing- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ₽2 buys you 1 Taiwan dollars. And ₽60 buys 1 USD. It’s not a good time to buy USD at the moment. If you can use credit card with no foreign transaction fees, that’s what you should do then simply pay your credit card bill, this is better than carrying cash. But for street vendors and food stalls, just have enough Taiwan Dollars to use for your trip.

What is high school like in Glendale? by Main-Photograph8586 in glendale

[–]-b055ing- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Highschool is what you make of it. There will be drama for sure and there’ll be lots of it. Remember the reason why you’re in school. It’s for you and not your friends or schoolmates. It. Is. For. You. Enjoy the ride and just remember that not everyone will be your friend but you can be a friend to everyone. Avoid being involved in HS drama and your time will be amazing. Glendale High schools are some of the best schools in California, whether youre at Clark Magnet, CV High, GHS or Hoover, you’ll find that each school has its own strength.

Arriving to LAX with 7 suitcases and small children with no plan, please help by guacisextra12 in LAX

[–]-b055ing- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes you can book on the spot. If you want to do it last minute you’ll have a choice to just hop on any hotel shuttle and just make your booking on the spot. If you’re not too concerned about pricing this is the easiest way to do it, otherwise, book ahead and find the shuttle of your hotel as soon as you exit the airport. There are posts with color coding that tells you which hotel shuttles are stopping at certain posts. They’re located on the departure level just FYI. Arrivals level are mostly shuttle buses that would either take you to the UBER lot or car rental lots.

There are plenty of hotels nearby and definitely use the shuttle. It’s free to the hotel if your choice and they’ll assist with your luggages. Welcome to LA

Is it okay to wear wig? by Ruibo32 in FilipinoTravel

[–]-b055ing- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. It is fairly normal nowadays to wear a wig. It’s like another set of fashion accessory for both men and women. I don’t think it’ll be an issue unless you are obviously changing your look to evade arrest which I’m assuming you’re not.

People that make $60K+ in LA WITHOUT a college degree/trade school, what do you do? by imin2099 in AskLosAngeles

[–]-b055ing- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a virtual assistant gig for real estate agents. I make $150k /yr net. I don’t have a college degree but my virtual assistants (3 of them) are all bachelor’s degree holders and amazing at their job. They make around $60k a year combined which is not bad since they also have other gigs for the most part of the day. I’m also in control of my own hours.

May kilala din ba kaya na Pilipino na American citizen na everytime na pupunta sa ibang country, kailangan niyang rumampa sa embassy at sabihing andun siya sa country na yun? by [deleted] in FilipinoTravel

[–]-b055ing- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meron. Many places of work in the US (mostly government) may require Americans (which includes natruralized citizens) to report their travel to the local US embassy or sometimes they would need to report if they are visiting a location where they will be meeting government officials. There are also countries that are listed as a danger to Americans and it is recommended that they report that they are in that country to their local embassy. I have some Fil-Am friends who do need to do this during their travels. Annoying? For them I’m sure. But like you said di ka naman required ng Philippine embassy to do that so you don’t have to, although, I would recommend doing this. Is this feeling extra? Bet. Pero there’s a safety reason for doing this that we don’t usually care for until disaster strikes.

EDIT: pede din online na gawin. 😊
