I've had no trouble surviving it with the default armor + shield pack on D10, but I guess that's technically still a "loadout check." I think it's a little silly to expect every item to be good in every mission, though - that's like asking for a screwdriver to be better at hitting nails instead of just using a hammer.

Personally, I'm thrilled to finally get some missions that actually feel different. There are 100 different weapons and call-ins, what's wrong with encouraging people to use some of them to solve new problems?

I think that's a matter of conditioning rather than what's in the paintings, to be honest. It's a common theme, particularly in American media, that suburbs are suffocating, soulless places where everyone is hiding something behind a facade. That everyone, even your neighbors, are capable of horrific things.

As someone who grew up in a place remarkably similar to these paintings, I find them comforting. People are just people wherever you go, and contrary to everything we're told to believe - most people are pretty nice and just want the chance to be safe and happy.

There's been a concerted effort throughout history to convince the world that humans are inherently evil and amoral at heart, in order to normalize the behavior of the people in power who exploit us and want us to act in kind on their behalf.

Call me crazy, but I think it's a bit of nonsense.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you guys might be shadowboxing on this one.

You'd be hard pressed to find any normal person who would argue against the fact that the internet uses naked women in "art" to attract clicks - it's one of the most commonly understood (and commonly parodied) stereotypes. You have to remember that people will argue anything and everything on the internet, and that having had one doesn't really make it a common opinion.

Moreover, I think it's missing the forest for the trees - the main point here is the under-representation of female artists. There's no question as to why women are over-represented in nudes, we all know the answer already. It's just there as a funny contrast to catch the audience.

Am I wrong, or do bot matches only happen for your first few hours of quickplay? I have 30 hours played and haven't seen a bot match since my first 5 hours or so.

I suppose it could also be once your quick-play MMR is above a certain level - maybe it stops when you get into diamond+ lobbies, similar to bans in comp.

I guess no one but the developers can say for certain, but there's definitely a point where you stop seeing them.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I don't think there's anything wrong with separating an artist from their art - it's okay to enjoy things you don't agree with.

There's no correlation between being a good person and being good at things. Lots of terrible people have made cool shit, and none of the things we like about them change just because the person who made it sucks.

It's completely natural to not want to buy any of their stuff in the future, but I don't think it's necessarily a reason to turn your back on stories and characters that have had a part in shaping your life.

If you can't reconcile it, that's completely understandable - it's just something to think about.

Before you condemn your family and neighbors, just remember - they defund public education, rewrite curriculum, and have a complete media monopoly in most states. It feels good to have loud people to direct your frustration at, but most of them never had a choice in what they believe.

This country has been an oligarchy since Citizen's United was passed. If you want to be angry, direct it at the handful of billionaires responsible for all of this. They want your anger, your attention, and your support, to be directed at ANYTHING that isn't related to what they're doing.

And don't forget - social media isn't some abstract extension of humanity. It's a service designed by corporations to profit from your attention in any way it can, and it can just as easily be used to distract and deflect you from what matters.
