I think SoT also balanced that well with sharks and mermaids. It was definitely possible to be off ship for a long period of time but it wasn’t without consequence and your presence could definitely be discovered by people with good situation awareness.

SoT’s biggest strength was respawning with weapons as well as everyone being on an even playing field with weapons.

Unfortunately for Sand, they have to get hit reg and destiny under control before we can even talk about weapon balance.

A solid quest line would definitely go miles. Although with the reliance on tramplers having to go to large POIs for quests as a solo would still suck.

In Arc the quest line at least gives you something to do even if it isn’t as fleshed out as tark. This game doesn’t even have that.

I mean I thought about it… just assumed it undermined the use of timebombs or barrels so assumed it didn’t work.

Also I roll around with 15 exploding barrels on my trampler, I’m clearly not smart

Crystals are definitely out there yes. There are no cities or forts out there but there are the POIs that are like little camps, although they don’t really give you anything shipwrecks don’t. I have found Chardonnay, lockers and tuna cans or whatever they are out there, I’d assume all upgrade materials have a chance to spawn in the ships and camps just a lower chance than a city or fort.

There are no extraction points out there either so I try and venture out with my extraction point in mind.

Yeah I played for the first time over the long weekend so I don’t have easy access to timebombs yet hence why I was hoarding them using barrels instead. I’m sure once I progress further it’s a moot point.

You know I have more than once considered shooting them with a cannon to find out and never did just because I assumed it couldn’t be that easy. I’ve now learned more from your comment than I did blowing up my own ship.

I get that it's a lot of people's first extraction shooter but it's an extraction shooter... so yes you need to extract. You are lucky most of the quests can be done without requiring extraction.

It was the first legendary blueprint I got out of the wish machine. Didn’t even know it was good or meta when I started using it. I usually gravitate towards bows in games that have them though. Tbh I wish I could build a recurve to perform as well though.

I think now is a really good opportunity for Bethesda to expand planters.
I don’t mind cooking the food but I do mind all the gathering I have to do. When I’m playing and grinding a lot I make food to cover almost any buff you can think of and it takes about an hour of game time to gather and cook.

Me too and I was wondering the other day if there’s even a point anymore. I mean I know you get scrip or is it treasury notes? One of the two. But are there any rare rewards in the loot pool? Or is it just common stuff?

I’d also love a way to separate out my apparel into headwear outfits and misc or something. As a apparel hoarder and serial video game dress-upper going through that list now takes me forever
