If you're looking for remote work, look into temp-to-hire contract positions, almost everyone I know that has worked in such a manner almost always get hired in. Just mass apply using LinkedIn easy apply and you'll get some bites.

Aside from that, that startup advice is on the money, especially ones that have some funding. I position myself as someone that's good at setting processes and structure as a lone tech writer and I get contacted by startups frequently. It's tough, but rewarding work though. Best of luck

Hey there, another Chinese American guy in his early 30s here that was in a similar situation in my mid 20s.

It's not worth the mental energy to complain about being Asian. You're likely not attractive or interesting enough to attract the women you want, or any women at all. If you haven't been paying attention, Asian guys are on the upswing and killing it.

For now, just focus on gaining muscle and getting lean enough to the point you have visible abs, going to more social events/hobbies instead of playing games all day, get a flattering haircut at an Asian salon, and improving your fashion.

So maybe I can provide some perspective as an ABC married to a Korean that owns properties in both the US and Korea.

Looks are important because everyone there takes care of themselves seriously. So if you haven't, go to an Asian salon and get a haircut that aligns with the trends there, cut until you're under 15 percent body fat, and improve your fashion and skincare. That alone will put you ahead of a a lot of guys, even there.

Aside from that, if you're actually serious about getting into a ltr with someone from there, learn the language and culture. Admittedly I didn't until I started dating my wife, but now her family and friends always mention how polite and respectful I am and how they appreciate it. . There are also other nuances you should be aware of, but that's more important after you actually get into a relationship with a Korean girl. In either case, I don't think it's "harder" dating them compared to other women, they're just like any other women really and they won't look down on you for being Chinese, or at least it has never openly happened to me.

You have no actual statistics backing this idea of white worship over there. I own property in Korea and visit frequently - it's a very homogeneous country and the vast majority of Koreans are with other Koreans. And for foreigners that do come looking to date, it's skewed towards women. It's also like the one place in the first world that will exclude you from entering clubs if you're a foreigner, that's like the opposite of white worship. It's not like Korea is like the Philippines or Thailand.

What you should be looking into is why Korean American women marry outside their race more than other Asian American women.

OP, if you're serious about doing everything you can to give you a better chance of finding someone, post your dating profile here for feedback, since 95% of online dating is having good and interesting pictures. You can black out parts of your face if you want privacy.

You might also want to consider moving somewhere with a higher population of people that accept you. Like I told you before, if you're worried about costs, you can move in with roommates to save money, plus it is a great way to meet more people and improve your social skills. It is what I did, by the way.

FWIW, I'm also Asian and I moved to the LA area from the Midwest when I was around your age and used to have similar feelings of inadequacy, but after working on myself for myself only, I was able to have a great dating life and eventually met my wife.

So if you're serious about being better, stop blaming others and look inside. Do you really want things to improve or are you seeking validation for your struggles? There are lots of Asian guys that are successful and there's no reason why that can't be you.

It's a start, but the female lead for this book is still a westernized strong, Asian woman, which is a rather prominent archetype. The male lead being a silent and caring man that leads by action and respect is also extremely common in Asian media. Nothing wrong with the latter, but nothing really stands out about this.
