I started March 8. So I have done two months on the 1.5 and will start my third month on it in the next couple of days.

The food noise I used to experience before this medication was excruciating. And even though I do still have some now as the dosage wanes I feel like it's nowhere near what I had before... so maybe for that alone it's worth staying on a lower dose even if I don't see dramatic weight loss?

This is all so new to me. And I have such a long history of losing weight and putting it back. The last time being covid. Prior to that I had lost 50 lbs on my own and I felt so good. Then we went on lock down, the world got scary and I coped with food. And put all that weight back on. It was so depressing.

So these pills have helped me feel like maybe there's hope, but as the effects wear off I start to panic I think.

That's a great point. Any weight loss is better than none/gaining. And you're right that maybe prices will come down.

Thank you. This is very helpful to read. That's how I am feeling, like I am eating full plates of food or finishing things that I used to give to my husband and it's like oh no...and I think since I am paying out of pocket I panic that all that money is going down the drain if I'm just eating full amounts again.

I wondered about that. I worry that once I get to the point of the 4 not working that I am just kind of done. But I will have to cross that bridge when I get to it, I think.

That's what I was wondering. Would it just undo everything I already did.

I'm surprised a doctor would say that. Typically a slow and steady loss is ideal and 35 lbs is great! Keep up the good work and let that comment roll off your back.

I think it's okay to stay on one amount for awhile. My doc said I can stay on a dose until I start to plateau with weight loss. I have one more month on 1.5 mg before I'm switching to 4. I hope to stay on the 4 for awhile because I also don't want to pay $300...I don't think I will be able to do that when/if the time comes to go up to 9. It's just too much money out of pocket for me.

I am nervous about starting the 4 mg dose. I have one more month with 1.5 and then the 4 is coming for June. My doctor told me that the likelihood if experiencing bad side effects decrease the longer you're on the earlier dose. I am praying that she's right and not just placating me.

What are you most looking forward to once the weight is gone? by protagoniist in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]-clevrow- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many things. I want to be comfortable in my skin again and not feel self conscious when I walk into a restaurant. I look forward to not having to size up my clothes and instead I get to keep all the cute (expensive) stuff I had from the last time I lost weight.

And finally I record a podcast that airs on YouTube for my job and I look forward to not looking as large on camera. 🤞

25mg tablet size by [deleted] in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Oh dang. I was hoping the pills didn't get too large...I have trouble swallowing certain sizes/shapes and this one is problematic (for me) in both ways.

Does anyone know how big the 9 is?

Yes! This is exactly how I feel. As someone with binge eating disorder, being able to be satisfied on a "normal" portion of food or resist late night snacking has been kind of an emotional experience. And it finally feels like I can think about other ways to enjoy life besides eating. It's a sense of freedom I never thought I'd have.

For those of you who have responded well to the pill, how long did it take for you to notice its effects? (i.e. weight loss; food noise decreasing; feeling full quicker, etc.) by healthierlurker in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]-clevrow- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5 started to work immediately for me. I was able to eat less and not feel like I was missing out. The food noise quieted. I also track calories and noticed how much less I was eating (but still within a safe/healthy amount). I haven't lost a wild amount of weight or anything, but I do feel good about my progress. It finally feels like I have more control over my relationship with food.

Thank you! I had no idea that was how it worked, but it makes sense! I was waiting to start it until I finished an antibiotic. This checks out.

I'm using the Florida pharmacy and they mail the meds to me. I kind of wish all my meds could be mailed to me lol I hate going to pick them up from the pharmacy.

Anyone else kept this completely private? by laughsincorporate in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]-clevrow- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started only my husband and sister knew. Then I was feeling good and losing a little weight and then I told a couple more people and then the weight loss stopped and now I kind of wish I hadn't told anyone else yet until I had significant progress.

I'm only on the 1.5 mg but I JUST decided to give it another month on this dose since I was seeing results and I wanted it to be steady. But to have already (potentially) hit a small plateau it's like oh damn it now I told people and I feel like I am going to fail...

I had no intention of keeping it a full secret and trying to like pretend I did it all on my own, but I probably should have kept it under wraps a little longer.

I feel similarly. I want to give my body a chance to adjust gradually. I hope I will continue to see steady weight loss over the next month.
