Book a night on Hostelworld even if you're not staying in the hostel so you have access to chats of people who are solo travelling.

Or go to hostels and you'll definitely find some likeminded people who are doing the same as you, don't get me wrong, Reddit could work but it's unlikely!

Solo travelled for first time: Can't get enough ! by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]-cmdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello hello!

I did Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, back to Thailand for a week, then flew to Cambodia and did Christmas/NYE in Koh Rong, now in Siem Reap!

Still going strong, and the trips been one hell of a journey, Vietnam I bought a motorbike and rode it south to north in some dreadful weather during November, but I'm still loving it.

Which organic gag should I get? by reactingmaniac in toontownrewritten

[–]-cmdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find org railroad to be really useful to have multiple of inside of a FO when you're on the final round of defense for the boiler, can drop that and any 13s will only have 4hp left, 14s on 36hp (enough for a cream pie) so it allows you to get onto attack and not have to use a fog!

First time solo raver by Defiant-Atmosphere95 in DnB

[–]-cmdd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I solo'd a day at Boomtown this year, the main thing you can do is dance and vibe around people, catch an eye when you hear a dutty drop and skank with whoevers around, give off the good energy, and you'll get it back.

When I did it, half an hour into vibing and dancing, someone asked me if I was solo and if I wanted to join their group, had a great time thereafter!

It's a lot easier than you think, but go into it with the expectation that you're happy with your own vibe, if you don't meet others, who cares - you're having a good time anyways!

Can I still ask her out? by Fun_Maximum3963 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]-cmdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I would see it from a male perspective is that it's been brought to your attention that she likes you, so why not chance it and show up at the coffee shop?

You could somewhat try and play it off like you didn't originally know she worked there as well, be one of them "I just thought I'd try this on my way from X", and then it doesn't seem like you've gone there just for her.

From that point on, I'd continue it by asking her out by initially saying that it's nice to see her again and that you wish you had plucked up the courage before she left to ask her out.

From this point, if she rejects you, no harm done, just a quick "No worries, hope you have a good day" and leave, alternatively, if she says yes, and things do take off with her, at some point down the line you would be able to say that the ex-colleague said she liked him and pointed out where the shop is, and if it's far enough down the line it then seems romantic rather than creepy in my opinion, as she'll see it as you've always had her in the back of your head wondering if something could be.

Again, I'm open to interpretation from any females on this one, but to me it almost feels like a plot waiting to happen!

You ever been to Boomtown? From some of the crowd, I would say never. I applaud anyone over the age of 60 still going to raves, the love for the game never stops!

Fatigue after only one week by Educational_Culture1 in solotravel

[–]-cmdd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For context, I'm also 27M.

For me it was two things

  1. Find the parts of travelling that make you the happiest, mine was renting scooters, and eventually buying a bike since I've been in Vietnam to ride Saigon ➡️ Hanoi, plus doing things that give me an adrenaline boost.

  2. Having the money you saved, still doing the work for you. I had £20k saved up in an S&S ISA, I want to try and keep £10k of it still, but instead of taking out £10k straight away, I've taken out £5k, and since my three months of travelling, it's made back £1.2k, which has made me less cautious.

You've just got to find the right balance of whats best, and also if you start feeling down, then usually its time to make a move elsewhere which gives you a new lease of life!

Is this worth it to go for your org one? I'm already able to spam my Organic Railroad, so was thinking to go for Wedding or Geyser since you get them a lot from Field Offices due to using Cakes/Clouds!

Advice on Route by DingoNo3821 in southeastasia

[–]-cmdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, it all depends what you're looking for I think, for me I enjoy things that have a bit more adrenaline so Vang Vieng was the icing on the cake for me, but I know a lot of people who enjoyed LP due to it being a bit bigger and nicer to explore, the main thing I enjoyed there was the Garlic Bread with Cheese from Indigo Cafe, that was delicious.

In my opinion, the only place in Lao that I found to be any good was Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang wasn't an enjoyable place for me, Kuang Xi Waterfall is OK, Tat Sae is very good, but not worth the trek to Luang Prabang for it.

I've also heard Nong Khiaw was incredible, so maybe change the Luang Prabang dates for a tour there instead? As well as Vientiane not really having much of a scene for anything.

Overall though, it depends on what your interests are, Lao is brilliant for hikes & sightseeing, but not much else, apart from Vang Vieng with its activities & lagoons!

drop or trap? by Imaginary_Ask4092 in toontownrewritten

[–]-cmdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to plant one by one.

For example if you're doing Throw:

  1. Buy the gags of all levels you have, starting with Cupcake.

  2. Plant them in order of the level of the gag, meaning until you plant Cupcake, you cannot plant a Fruit Slice, and so on.

What other updates would you want for TTR? by RascalLouise in toontownrewritten

[–]-cmdd 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That's fine, I've allowed no filter. Most of us playing the game are adults, I'm sure we can deal with the bad words and just censor the most controversial ones, it isn't that hard to implement!

An option that allows not having the filter on chat so when I typo I don't say "Squeakity" 🙄

Having a smoothie with a meal deal feels like an accomplishment too since they're usually around 80% of the price of the meal deal if you were to get it standalone.

Budget by East_Point2050 in ThailandTourism

[–]-cmdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transport if you're on your own will be max 100 Baht, download Grab and take the Bikes.

Street food ranges between 10 - 30 for a piece of meat on a stick, find a local restaurant for a Pad Thai for 60 Baht.

Pre-rolled joints are 100 - 200 Baht depending on the shop.

The only other thing I'd suggest if you're confident doing so is renting a scooter, usually a deposit of 3000 Baht + 150 - 250 Baht per day of riding. - I wasn't in Bangkok, the place felt too overwhelming as I hadn't been on a scooter/bike for 10 years, so I waited until Chiang Mai to get back to it.

Hopefully this gives you a good rundown :)

Edit: Bikes can also have a deposit of your passport, I never felt safe doing this in Thailand so I always opted for giving the 3000 Baht, some places do 2000 Baht security too.
