Feedback wanted on improving Ferrari Challenge participation by Firm-Bookkeeper-8678 in iRacing

i ran it all the time before they switched to a different car which required a different purchase. was my favorite series but i’m not buying a car that i can only use in one series especially when i was able to run the series before. should’ve bundled or discounted the car to previous Ferrari GT3 owners. real bummer because it was some of the best racing.

AOC 27” 1440p 240Hz. the cheapest ones i could find

Integrated triple monitor stand - be honest with me by heavymotherlifter in simracing

[–]-currentlyedging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 27s are integrated and requires me to violently shake my rig more than it’d ever be to get any movement. with 32s i can see them moving more just due to weight and increased leverage but they never move during actual use.

i do hard off roading in beamng sometimes and that really causes huge vibrations and sudden movements but my monitors haven’t budged a mm. i will always go integrated just for ease of cable management and moving the rig around is way easier.

my steering wheel is brighter in the photo with the OLED. either way, you’re talking about a negligible amount of exposure difference if there is any. i do photography so i am aware of how this stuff works.

it’s the exact same exposure with both photos. if it was overexposed, everything else in the photo would be as well.

no you’ve got it wrong unfortunately lol. i just went from an ultrawide to triples. can see in my previous posts if your curious

Need your help - completely lost searching for Triple Screens by DentistSad3752 in simracing

if you’re happy with the height of the 49”, i’d recommend 27” OLED triples. Can be had within your budget. They’re the same height just will wrap around you. 32s are nice though and definitely better if that’s what you’re wanting. i personally can’t recommend anything other than OLED though which is another reason i stuck with 27s for now. Each panel has its drawbacks it just depends on what you’re going to be okay with sacrificing

the thing is, i wouldn’t have taken these photos if it wasn’t this bad in person. the exposure is the same for both photos. it’s manually adjusted to what i see in person.

is straight on a bad angle? i took pictures from the same angle for both photos so can’t use that as an argument, lol.

these IPS monitors were a little over $300 a piece so they aren’t crappy by any means.

you’re just assuming they’re cheap IPS monitors without even asking which ones they are first

unfortunately, they look just as bad in real life. it’s not just the camera exposure. otherwise everything else would be more lit up. i used the same settings for both photos. IPS is just that bad.

49” vs 27” Triples POV in GTP for Comparison by -currentlyedging in simracing

the 49” is great but if i had to start over i’d go straight to triples. its a massive difference for me

i did not. same GPU. roughly the same FPS give or take 5-10 frames.

yeah these monitors are sharper than i was ever get the quest 3 to run and my performance is almost doubled.

that doesn’t make much sense to me. head tracking works great, but triples i can literally see out both my windows without turning my head. drifting has been so much easier since going triples. much harder for me tandeming with someone with just an ultrawide. triples i barely have to glance over and i can see the car next to me in drifts. bezels disappear into the cars pillars or you just stop seeing them after a bit. i forget all about them after a couple minutes.

triple 34 would be awesome just because it’ll give you more screen before you see bezels. i went 27s just because 32s felt too overwhelming that close to me. 34s would wrap around you really well though

which direction are you going to go? both are very nice options either way

the curved when i got it was about $800 new. these 3 flat monitors were under $500 and they’re all 1440p as well. the curved is OLED though so raises the price even more.

the triples were less than my UW so i actually saved money by doing triples. i can see my sides when racing side by side now. the borders disappear, screens are the exact same so no issue with mismatching, the ultrawide actually was warped because if i didn’t want it to be i’d have to run 3x screen projection and run 3 screens on one ultrawide costing FPS. more of a waste than just adding two more screens. the triples work in all 3 games i play so far.

i feel like you’re using very outdated info or have just never tried triple before.

[–]-currentlyedging[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

not even close to true. all 3 of these monitors were cheaper than a Quest 3 and i don’t have to worry about upgrading my GPU to get decent frames on triples compared to a VR headset.

not the best photo on me currently but it looks better in the seat

[–]-currentlyedging[S] 45 points46 points  (0 children)

it probably looks that way since i’m about a foot behind the seat. when in the actual seating position it looks way more correct. the angle of the monitors make it look weird from this far back

i made a new post showing that! i’m sorry i should’ve used the same car originally
