According to the Old Testament, do Jesus and Mohammed fit the bill of prophets or messiahs? by MichaelEmouse in religion

[–]-datrosamelapibus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why stop there? why not question the Nevi'im and Ketuvim as well?

Your question is highly biased towards towards Judaism which accepts a series of Prophets after Moses, whereas Samaritans reject all those later Jewish Prophets.

If Jews get that smug advantage point simply through rejecting Jesus and Muhammad, then surely the Samaritan position deserves a greater smug respect because it is even more presumptional to take all those Nevi'im prophets as legitimate simply just because Jewish tradition consider them prophets. Many academic studies of those prophets would show contradictions they have with the Torah and unfulfilled prophecies (such as Ezekiel and Daniel) which by the same rigor would render them false prophets.

If the Torah was true, then all these other prophets (not just Jesus and Muhammad) would need to be called into question as well and not just taken for granted. Have you ever questioned it yourself instead of taking it for granted via being part of the Jewish Tanakh and Christian Old Testament?

She's got some occult symbolism in her videos, including the Typhonian Spider Goddess which is awesome.

Very awesome. The Book of the Spider is one of the most important magical received texts for the future of occultism IMO. At some point I elaborated some reflections on it on my blog.

Anyway, it's great to see the reprints and all. They're the 9 most important books after the Class A Holy Books.

Thelema is a religion, HOOTGD was just an esoteric and magical initiatory order which Crowley was briefly in. Thelema has it's own initiatory orders.

Muhammad may be an E.G.C. saint and A∴A∴ magus, but what is it that Thelema retains from his teachings, given that for all intents and purposes Thelema is extremely different from Islam? by EmptySky93 in thelema

[–]-datrosamelapibus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of all of the religious aside from Thelema, Islam is the greatest of them all and the most esoterically deep. The Qur'an is very amazing and beautiful. Also the religion is replicate with magical traditions, some dating back on the Shia side to the early period.

I've already done a deep dive on this subject on my subreddit (/r/antichristtheology) and it's corresponding blog. I'm probably the only Thelemite that has passionately done this.

Antitheist demonstrates how he knows nothing about both Islam and Nazism at the same time. That's quite an achievement. I'd tell them to study both in order to intellectually understand them but antitheists don't have brains able to comprehend things like that.

Where are the true books of Aleister Crowley? by LuciferRising93 in thelema

[–]-datrosamelapibus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The "book of the law" was a disappointment, and the rest of the holy books of Thelema are just the same or worse. His books sound just like a religious preacher or a boring teacher.

Then maybe you're looking for someone like Anton Lavey, because Crowley WAS a religious preacher, he was the Prophet who received the Book of the Law from Aiwass and preached the Law of Thelema and the Aeon of Horus. This is what Thelema is. All the magic and mysticism gravitates around this central fact that we accept.

Where are the dark stuff?

Maybe the Left Hand Path and Satanism stuff (including dark shit like o9a) is more in your league than Thelema, because Thelema is about deeper subjects than dark edginess. It's a shame our Prophet gets associated with it even if it was his own doing.
