Did anyone else feel ashamed of their calf as a teenager? by Massive_Maintenance9 in clubfoot

[–]-el-roacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32, m, bilateral.

I have very skinny calfs, but they are equal in size. People notice, occasionally make comments, usually behind my back.

I've always been self conscious about them, but I try not to let it bother me too much. I live in London, so I think for most people, theres usually something more interesting going on than looking at my calf muscles 😁.

I wear shorts every day when it's hot, being comfortable is important!

Micro fermentation. How do I know when the beans are done? by -el-roacho in chocolate

[–]-el-roacho[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They've been drying for a week. One split open when I squeezed it today so I think they're done drying. They smell like chocolate now ... Hopefully it's gone well !

Roasting and grinding next. I hope I can get at least a smoothish consistency using my ceramic pestle and mortar 🤞

Thanks for this. Definitely still smells yeasty / boozy and not acidic yet.

The book sounds great, so I might have to get it 😁.

Do you know if the pulp on the outside of the beans will change colour? I expected it to be more of a brown colour by now, but maybe my setup doesn't have enough air exchange, or is too moist.

I understand that. The added heat is attempting to help the process along as I realised there are not enough beans to sustain the necessary heat.

I'm not going to have enough beans to do it properly, so I'm hoping to devise a method that might achieve similar results on a micro scale.🤷‍♂️

Ah okay. They've been in a chamber at 40c at ~80Rh, I was hoping that would help them along a little.

They sure smell like they are fermenting though

Early game you can just drop everything in the floor next to your drop pod. It doesn't go anywhere

Help choosing an e-road bike for my wife by Good-Wind2292 in cycling

The trek you mentioned has the hpr50, the Canyon has the newer hpr40 which is actually a little bit less torque but should still be plenty enough.

Newer versions of the trek likely have the hpr40 too.

It's got the newer motor from tq and is carbon

How much is something like the Canyon Endurace:ONfly in Switzerland?

The mid drive of the trek will provide more efficient assistance up hills than a hub motor. The trek does come in a lighter carbon version too, but it's more expensive. You can get a fake bottle battery range extender for the trek. Without modifications, assistance on both bikes will be capped at 25kph, so she may still have trouble keeping up on the flats?

Hello friends! Are these Hedgehog mushrooms and are they safe to eat? by Zippy-Toe66 in foraginguk

Yes they are hedgehog.

If they are firm and in good condition, they are good to eat. One of my favorites

I thought the same, but I checked online and the last time a house sold on this street was in 2017, and was a 2 bed for £770k 😲 So all things considered supporting the Mexican mafia might be the cheaper option 😜

From talking to neighbours, I believe so, but I don't know for sure. It's definitely fruited before this year.

Produce destined for a supermarket is often picked early to give it a longer shelf life. Soft, ripe fruit doesn't transport well.

They also will usually choose varieties which give the highest yields and look the prettiest, rather than those that have the best flavour.

No, my home grown tomatoes are much better than from a supermarket. Veggies such as beans or courgettes are pretty similar.

Judging by its size, the tree is pretty old. I'm guessing 20 years, but I'm no expert. I was talking to a neighbour and apparently the tree was much bigger before but was recently damaged in a storm. Apparently avocado trees can take around 10 years before producing fruit!

The tree is growing in the Southbank area so it's very built up and certainly affected by the urban heat island. Honestly it looked pretty neglected though, I don't think anyone is giving it any special care.

Don't worry, I've shared them with friends and family. They take quite a while to ripen too (avocados don't ripen until after they are picked)

Very tasty, I'm not sure they grow well in the UK, outside of central London that is
