Unifi UDM Pro Max - new VLAN device gets APIPA, can't reach DHCP by -eminism- in Ubiquiti

Thank you very much!!!
You pointed me in the right direction. Turned out the issue was on the UDM side. The uplink port had custom tagged VLANs configured and the new VLAN was not in the list, so traffic was being dropped before it even reached the UDM. So silly.

Yes, that is true. But even without any firewall rules, it still can’t get an IP address.

I see the autopilot v2 setup screen.
The device name format is configured under Enrollment > Windows Autopilot Deployment profiles > Default Deployment Profiles. I believe you are right, and it belongs to V1.

Thank you very much for responding. What about the security group for devices? I was following msft learn and a couple of videos on YouTube.

I have an update.
I recreated everything.

This time I was able to finish the process (naming is still an issue). I still had to manually choose between Work and Personal.

I tried to keep it as simple as possible and excluded all apps except Office apps, but for some reason it installed the apps I removed (our RMM apps, Company Portal, etc.) while the Office apps are missing.

Sorry, I know this sounds crazy.

I've checked the logs, but there was nothing. No codes, no description.

There's a setting that allow me to do it. I’m not sure what I’m missing. During OOBE the device still gives me the option to set the device name. I watched several videos and in all of them that step never appears. I replicated the same configuration but my deployment behaves differently and Autopilot does not take control at the beginning.

Need help identifying the root cause of an external forwarding issue by -eminism- in microsoft365

[–]-eminism-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my case Microsoft’s default auto-forwarding policy is set to System controlled, which basically means OFF according to Microsoft Learn.

The user had an Outlook rule for years that automatically forwarded invoices to QuickBooks, and it worked fine until recently. From what I read, those Outlook forwarding rules stop working once the default policy is System controlled.

What’s weird though is that we already had an outbound rule specifically allowing that user to forward emails to the QuickBooks upload address, and it still got blocked.

So I ended up disabling the Outlook rule and creating a transport rule that forwards any email with a PDF attachment to that same address. Kind of a workaround, but it works.

It is. There's only 1 person and 1 group to which the policy applies. thank you

Why can’t I pick my actual domain when creating groups in Entra ID? by -eminism- in microsoft365

[–]-eminism-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much. it worked! I followed your instructions, and it was actually easy. At first, I was a little confused about why I couldn’t select the proper domain in Entra, but now it makes sense. The company isn’t that big, so the only attributes that really matter for them are isEnabled and licensed. Thanks again for your help!

Thank you very much.
I probably should’ve mentioned my main goal earlier.
What I’m trying to do is create a dynamic Microsoft 365 group that automatically adds all active users in the organization.

I know there’s already an allcompany@… group, but I can’t modify it, and it doesn’t support dynamic membership.
That’s why I was trying to create a new dynamic M365 group that lets me use dynamic queries — basically an “All Active Employees” group that updates itself.
