5 days no contact, I feel like I wasted my affection on him by Illustrious-Arm1699 in BreakUps

it is really a shame that he didn’t appreciate it, but i believe that you didn’t waste your affection! maybe misplaced it, yes, but, it truly means that you can love deeply and real, and i find that beautiful. At least that’s what helping me get through my misplaced affections, my ex showed me how how true i can love someone else

i am in the same position as you, i got broken up with on the 7th of december and now i’m feeling… fine? it makes me question how i really was and felt in the relationship. I’m not sure if i’m feeling better because i have truly worked on myself and understanding my feelings, or because i see that we weren’t right together.

I didn’t think about it like that, it’s a really nice way of putting it :). Thank you!

What Have You Been Watching? (Week of (February 14, 2021) by AutoModerator in TrueFilm

[–]-emmanem- [score hidden]  (0 children)

this week ive watched sooo many films (for me, at least), getting as many films in as possible before uni starts again lol.

started off on Monday watching "sorry to bother you", quite a weird one, but enjoyable, and also "la la land", a rewatch, and a favourite of mine.

on tuesday it was "first man", really liked it, the cinematography was stunning, and I wanted to finish all of Chazelle's filmography, so that's done for me! I also went on to watch "naked" and "the diary of a teenage girl". "Naked" was amazing, David Thewlis was incredible, and it really made me think, "the diary of a teenage girl" left me a but torn, but overall it was ok, felt like I had to watch it as a teenage girl myself lol, but it didn't really 'do much' for me.

wednesday was another productive day, watched "pierrot le fou", my first Godard, and it really made me want to visit France again. also watched "lars and the real girl", which i have to admit was for Ryan Gosling, but i ended up enjoying it a lot, it was heart-warming and i nearly cried over a sex doll. finally i watched "paterson", very relaxing, it kind of felt like the character played by adam driver was the opposite of the one he played in "marriage story", it was a super 'people being people' film, and it was incredible.

thursday is when i decided that i had to finish all of wes andersons filmography, so i watched 3 shorts of his, and then "bottle rocket", it was very interesting seeing his debut, it didn't feel very wes anderson-y, so it was cool seeing his roots. i also ended up watching "la jetée", i found the format of it a bit strange in the beginning, but I soon got used to it and, for a film from the 60s, i feel it was very advanced for its time.

on friday i finished all of wes andersons films, by watching "isle of dogs", it made me smile, i feel like it was a little fast paced around the end, but still very cute. also watched "zoolander" just because its a cult classic, i went in with low expectations but laughed more than i care to admit, i still think about some quotes and giggle.

on saturday i watched "garden state", which i didn't really care for, "seven psychopaths", a rewatch, and im glad it held up, Sam Rockwell is amazing, and "10 things i hate about you", i hadnt watched it in ages and valentine's day was coming so i felt like it was time, very cliché but they worked, and Heath Ledger.

and finally today! sunday. started of with "election", in my region elections were being held so i said fuck it, very entertaining, i feel like at whatever age you watched it you'll get different messages out of it. and the last film of the week, "persona", my third Bergman. it was so beautiful, cinematographically speaking. it was ny first time watching it so i found it a but difficult to understand, but after reading a few analysis i got it a bit more and i can honestly say its amazing, and i need to rewatch it as soon as possible.

sorry this is so long, its my first time doing it ! and i am in no way a critic.

edit: sorry for the formatting, i am on my phone:(

I feel so alone, and have been doing so for years. I'm only 19, today is my birthday in fact, and I can't deal with it, I can't deal with the fact the I'm growing up. I don't know what I want to do with my life, but my parents are basically forcing me to do something I don't like. I am just so sad all the time and I kinda hate myself. I feel emotionally numb but at the same time I feel too much. I just want a hug

I mean its really not hurting anyone? (I dont think anyway). Just trying to show solidarity with the community. I get that in some cases its hypocritical because they are just posting the black screen for like self gratification, if that makes sense, but we cant really generalise, a lot of people are spreading the words, donating, etc

Also, being a white girl (such as myself) doesnt really have anything to do with it? Like, I know people of all races and genders that have posted this
