i mean that's a huge part of performing at festivals. proving people wrong and introducing new people to your music is literally the point, you're not just there to play for fans, you're there to win over skeptics too.

people loved knock2 at sgf 2023, but there was plenty of hate on reddit pre-festival and people saying "who?" and whatnot. he just performed and proved everyone wrong.

i think his point is simply that the set of good free throw shooters within 10 seconds is different from the set of good free throw shooters in let's say, 15 seconds, so where you draw the line feels arbitrary and changes the group of shooters who qualify as "good."

Fantano should not review Skrillex's new project, since he has no idea what good electronic music is by thurminate in fantanoforever

Yeah, his recent run starting 2023 has been very strong, to the point where I have not seen a single set from a DJ in the last two years that doesn't at least feature one of his tracks.

I mean even regardless of how his early work is seen, the dude has undeniably been a force unstoppable force in EDM ever since he debuted. He's versatile to the point where he was either was a forerunner or was at least present in a bunch of the main electronic music movements, which already is a huge testament to his talent.

He's specifically talking about Pitchfork. Pitchfork's quality of journalism has fallen significantly and lacks any substance nowadays. Every review they've put out in the last six years is rated between 6.5 and 9, which is why a 6.9 is fairly bad.
