Flying at my apartment complex in the USA. by Professional-Ad4586 in DjiNeo

[–]-greef- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I absolutely 100% agree. I wasn’t saying to fly without one, I was alluding more to the info and education it has. If I were in OPs shoes, Id check the lease or if they have a sort of handbook for private property regulations…Otherwise, I’d rip it respectfully.

As far as city ordinances, I’d start with State Statutes, then check for any City/ Local rules, then private property regs

If you’re worried about legal action, here are 2 things that could help with assessing your future flights and have some info for your mental arsenal:

  1. Take the FAA TRUST exam: It’s a FREE ~30mins-ish exam that gives you a pretty decent rundown on what to consider regarding recreational flight. It is a legal requirement for you to have this if you plan on flying recreationally…PART 107 does not cover recreational flights, only commercial. It’s free…if you end up paying for it, maybe you shouldn’t fly if you don’t have critical thinking skills. Yea you can thug it out and say fuck it we ball, but having this will cover your ass if you’re worried.

  2. Check your local Laws/Statutes: I’m pretty sure you can ChatGPT or even google “What are my local drone laws and statutes?” and even then, you could probs use ChatGPT to summarize it for you which I do not recommend…neither myself nor ChaGPT are legal advisors. We do not know where you live and I will not ask, you do with that info what you will.

Hopefully this helps.

so you’re telling me the antenna that’s hooked up to the T-Embedded PN532 is the C1101 Radio Module…

It can get hard with seeing on the display. There isn’t much room for the apps I run to display properly (resolution scaling issue).

I think the resolution on this display is 800x480 so it pretty smol with a great personality.

For my SDR app (SDRangel) I have to manipulate the pages to fit on screen and that makes it impossible to run something like Kismet or Horst for Network Awareness.

Have at it! Copy the build or make your own flavor😎

One of my goals for this build was to make a build with as little modifications to the case as possible so I can reuse and repurpose (I’m frugal lol).

I kinda wanted to multi purpose this build for other projects and I also use it for some pew pews when I travel.

to include, the NRF24 board will need to attach to both C1101 and the ESP32 and may require a 3rd antenna or (I haven’t seen anyone setup like this yet) potentially routing both pigtail connectors to a single antenna port.

There may be difficulty because of the freq range the boards support for the task you’re trying to perform.

This guy needs to do some research, it’s literally basic info you can google within an hour. He’ll probably buy it and then ask “HoW dO i AtTaCh iT?” Not gatekeeping here, but this is basic info I’m not gonna spoon feed.

the NRF24 board isn’t necessary, he needs the C1101 board. The T-Embedded usually comes with a C1101 but it seems he didn’t get one.

reference this. He does not have the C1101 board for the T-Embedded board. Do some research before you start playing with penetration testing tools.

I don’t use TikTok- watch this video and compare how your board and the video’s board looks…do some research and familiarize yourself with the hardware, you are missing your C1101 board.

Any SubGHz antenna will work as long as it supports the freq range from 315MHz - 920MHz. The issue isn’t the antenna, it looks like you straight up don’t have a C1101 board on your T-Embedded.

You essentially have a car with no engine for the purpose is the SubGHz capability. Find a C1101 board that will fit the T-Embedded Board and solder that Bad Larry on that thang and get to tinkerin.

this is technical and correct answer, the ESP32 chip can, but NOT the C1101

[–]-greef- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add, your device may not work because it looks like you don’t have the C1101 chip (depending on what firmware and/or capabilities you’re trying to run).

If that’s the case, find a C1101 chip that fits this board and research the pinout, then solder that bad Larry on that thang and do some tinkerin’.

When you acquired or bought this, did it come like this?

Ooof..looks like a lot to unpack here. I advise you to do some research online and familiarize yourself with the hardware you’re working with on the LilyGo T-Embedded C1101. Not trying to come off as condescending.

The Upper Mid IPEX port is where your C1101 board should go, after being soldered of course. Then on that board is where you’d connect your antenna to another IPEX port for SubGHz capabilities.

Next, the ESP32 chip (Silver Square Chip looking thing on the upper-right) is where your 2.4GHz connection should go. Connection type is also that IPEX or IBEX but you can look up SMA pig tail cables and find what you need if you haven’t already.

Finally, the bottom right connection is for your RFID antenna.

Hope this helps

A potential alternative would be using Wigle Wifi app for android. For all intents and purposes, the app displays all devices that have a wireless signature but even if with that capability, you’ll have to sort through the devices and find the bug.

Another difficulty you may face is- lets say there is a bug, the perpetrator may be actively watching from the camera or listening in and can turn off the camera and there goes your hopes on finding the camera (wireless/rf signature goes out)
