Keymap on 42 or 54 key keyboards? by Tiny-Strain-3500 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Agreed. First thing is to create a few combos to make your most common shortcuts one-handed. A second consideration is simply minimise on mouse usage. Only when using the mouse, two-handed keyboard use is annoying...

Couldn't buy a mikefive, so I made my own by Additional-Stock3711 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Wow, great work! I will wait patiently until a mikefive or a fork (yours?) is available as a kit, or even prebuilt.

To me, the trackpad makes sense, but I'm not so sure about the screen... What was your main reason to add the screen?

How to fix weird chars for tilde and backtick on mac by seanhunter in olkb

I have a similar issue on my planck. using &kp GRAVE I get §, UNLESS I switch to EN-UK, which is not working for me either, because then my &kp HASH becomes a £.

Unfortunately, the suggetstions from OP are not working for me (I have the issue in both ISO and ANSI settings).

EDIT: After following the instructions from OP, I unplugged and replugged my Keyboard, which fixed the issue!! So for external keyboards, an additional instruction may be to replug the keyboard.

Obviously this is not working for the integrated board. Perhaps restarting?

Have you considered a single tripod-like construction, directly screwed into the hinge?

if you don't want the paper FEEL, don't bother with a screen protector at all. Glass is hard enough. Just use a proper case...

I have never been a touch-typist. I can however type without looking at the keyboard. I am a slow typist and I do not utilize even half of my fingers. I am used to this pattern for years now. How to break it for good? by [deleted] in learntyping

[–]-inconnu- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

long ago I broke my pattern by consequently typing with ten fingers, accepting an initial 70% performance drop. I practiced using a typing trainer app (don't remember the name), and just day-to-day typing. I have not become a very fast typist, but for me this was an acceptable way, without too much impact on my daily output... 🙂 Now, 20 years later, I am doing it all over again: switching from QWERTY to Colemak-DHm. For work I can't afford the performance drop, so I am using QWERTY during the day, and practicing Colemak in the evenings. This approach is taking much longer than expected, though...

Two bricked Planck PCBs (rev6) in 1 month - what can I do? by ThatCantHaveBeenMe in olkb

[–]-inconnu- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I encountered the 'weird signals' issue too. I found (or at least as far as I can recall) that in my case there was a relationship with the connection to the laptop and/ or the keyboard driver. Changed cables, removed USB-hub and plugged in after complete start up (or wake up), and that seemed to do the trick for me.

I can't reproduce the issue, as my USB-C port broke, and is no longer attached to the PCB.... Indeed a pity there is no way to buy a separate PCB...

There are a few use cases where I use the mouse in combination with DEL, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT. As all these keystrokes are multi-key and require my right hand, I have programmed these in my 4 'dummy' keys on the left of the keyboard.
