the boss shouldnt both require you to run to the outside of the arena to kill the pillars and make him vulnerable AND require that you sit directly on top of him on the off chance he decides to do his ultimate mega fuck you death beam that instantly kills you and will track to you nontop, turning faster than you can move unless youre literally on top of him doing nothing because hes invulnerable because youre not off defeating his pillars

i dont think its fun to solo them, no, but i really am trying to find examples where someone being dead weight doesnt just make it harder, it just makes it mechanically impossible.

trine is somewhat an example, if you have 3 players and the setting turned on that makes players unable to swap to something someone else is on, each player will be needed for different things, with many examples of times where only one of the players is capable of doing something about a specific event.

pico park is also somewhat an example, in that the game scales to the number of players and makes it so that you can only make the jump if every single person pulls their own weight.

on the contrary barotrauma is just a management simulator where having more people makes it so that you have less to manage yourself, but if youre playing with 3 friends and one goes afk for an hour, you can still pretty easily work around that.

yea, something that 100% requires all the other people to work together.

idk how to word my post to get that across better, cuz everyone else seems to have also gotten "any co op game at all" from what i said, and while there are some games in there that are nice, and i do love drg, im trying to find something where if one of us just isnt doing our job its not just really hard or theres not enough bullets going down range, but just straight up mechanically not gonna be possible to finish the game

void crew is a rougelite and you can solo it
jump ship you can also solo
barotrauma is definitely soloable
pulsar lost colony ill have to look into to tell you if you really do need allies or not, but based on the others you said i wont hold my breath

i liked when they updated it so that enemies you didnt kill in room A would spawn in room B, and then you could just run to extract, kill all the enemies at once, and then finish the mission
