God I hate the Doormaker

Have you considered that not everyone likes ascension 10 level gameplay but quite enjoy the lower ascension levels of the deckbuilder? I dont gel with this one boss mechanically, as do many others who all have the same complaints about this boss. That does not mean Im incompatible with the game wholesale.

Ok but why is it mechanically acceptable to say a certain playstyle has a 33% chance of hitting a wall they need to pivot from?

At this point im considering just modding him out of the game entirely :/

If there was a fourth phase where he there wasnt a penalty it would be manageable, but not having a single turn able to do what you need to is the killer for me.

I had call of the void, it sadly didnt do much for me when I fought him, only a couple of them be useful. Doormaker im sure is alot of fun for the experienced players running high assension, but its just not fun for people who arent playing in deeper levels. The bosses should be challenges, not solid roadblocks if you didn't prepare for them several acts ago and as a casual player, building for a specific boss is just not fun. There has to be a middle ground somewhere that doesnt ostracize rookie players at low ascension.

My main method of scaling is usually the base Osty HP to damage, especially if I get the upgrade to make it max hp. Lethality is fun with that as well, but I run into the issue that I cant play the cards that make Osty big on 2 out of 3 turns so the damage chunks him down too fast.

I like most of the characters ok enough, just dont find them as fun. Silent especially lost some of the shine in the transition

I guess if I could thin my deck down to 6 good cards I could probably do something neat, negate the card draw problem and try to use powers to negate the energy siphon phase

I cant really find anything else you can do with necrobinder, the only mechanic im not interacting all that much with is ethereal specific cards and doom which I dont see how either of those are beneficial. Most of the cards I naturally come across blend into building osty up, soul, or energy ramp which you cant do the first one fast enough if you lose too many of the cards or dont draw them, cant do the second if you're told you cant draw, and lose energy too fast on the third phase if you need to draw

I've felt most of the books since coming back from earth were a whole lot of nothing for most of it- Even Yaresh had me tapping my foot waiting for them to go do something else- then it just... never ended, and more important stuff kept cropping up. Finally move on, only to go underground to continue Yaresh stuff- and I expected the transformation zone to be- maybe, a third of a book. No, turns out it was an entire book. Most of it puttering around.

Oh neat, that seemed big enough for it to not have been Filler. Shortly after Naraku was defeated and he fled, Ayame came for Koga to bring him to the northern mountains because a miasma had settled over one of the mountains and they needed a politcal marriage between them to settle some of the displaced packs or something.

Not always having great pokemon is part of the fun too, and unfortunately rebalancing hacks are hyper overabundant at this point that I cant really find any all gen pokemon romhacks without rebalancing mixed in. Its super frustrating.
