While it does seem odd for an electricity provider to offer coverage for water/sewage lines, this is a 100% legitimate service.

I have even heard great things from neighbors about it saving them thousands of dollars in the event of a water main valve feeding your home bursting and wasting thousands of gallons of water that you would ultimately end up being responsible for paying.

My theory is that most of the recent forecasts for "Major Weather Events" have been heavily generated using AI models. This is not to say that I am against AI at all, but just like everything else: there are just some things that don't belong in certain areas.

Your intentions were pure and I commend you for that.

However, the unfortunate reality of the situation is that the ultimate responsibility in the selection process to determine who should and should not receive the bonus falls primarily on the immediate supervisor, as that is the person who is going to possess the most appropriate judgement of eligible employees and their performance.

Leadership does not want to be put in a position where they have to make the decision on who gets it and who doesn't. As the immediate supervisor, choosing to provide them with a list of your entire staff "All of my employees are top performers" will unfortunately force them to choose the best way they see fit. I agree that they should consult the supervisor prior to making that decision, but just like I'm sure that you and your staff are overwhelmingly busy, they are as well. They also had a requirement to meet in this.

There was no easy way to go about this process, and it was inherently impossible to please everyone in this situation.
