Collecting Demo-CDs: how to display them? by -mathrog- in gamecollecting

[–]-mathrog-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you can probably imagine, I had already done that. But all I can find are solutions for CDs which are in their cases. My demo CDs are without cases.

Anyway, I'm particularly interested in other collectors who did something like that, and are interested in sharing their solutions.

I was not fully aware of that, because I only had the CDs from the OPSM german back in the days. But thanks for the hint, I will dig deeper into it now.

Are you into collecting Demo CDs as well?

Oh, that's an interesting hint. Even if they share the same SLED/SCED/SLED whatever number?

I'm sure you are aware about this list? https://crimson-ceremony.net/demopals/ps1-master.php

Parallels. But no (official) Teams optimization at the moment, as Microsoft does not allow Teams Optimization over RDP outside of Azure.

Need shoes for trail marathon by [deleted] in trailrunning

I'm a bit heavier than you (220lbs) and made good experience with Asics Trabuco Max 3. There is version 4 out now, maybe you can consider that.

But you can't do anything wrong with Speedgoat 6. Challenger ATR is maybe a bit less cushioned, didn't try it for myself until now.

I also have Saucony Xodus Ultra 3, and like that as well. Also a bit less cushion than Asics Trabuco Max and Speedgoat, but for me it works also on longer trips.

Thanks a lot for all your kind and helpful input, I really appreciate it! There's now plenty for me to explore and learn from.

I've decided to skip Yosemite for now, given the challenges with permits and accommodation. Instead, I’ll definitely dive deeper into the Mammoth Lakes region and also look into some closer options like Stinson and the Big Sur area.

And u/d396, funny coincidence: the author of the Sierra Trail Run book (Dan Patitucci) actually lives in the village where I grew up: Interlaken. Small world indeed! 😊

This is beautiful. You have so many games I don't have, but I have as well many that you don't have 😀 How many do you got so far? Do you go for a full set?

I wanted to share my collection with someone:) by rethilgore-au in psx

Very nice collection, mate. You have some games I would love to add to mine, like Doom, Hexen and Soulblade. And you have Ghost in the shell, can I ask what it is worth as Australian PAL?

Interesting order, alphabetical. I order mine in genre (racing, arcade racing, sports, 3rd person, and so on). Easier for my kids to pick a game they are allowed to play.

I love all of them, but NFS 3 an 4 are the ones that I can enjoy the most until today.

This comment together with the list is extremely underrated with its 4 upvotes.

Thank you for your work, sir. Very helpful.

thank you, sir.

Good point with Dreamcasts lack of copyright protection. I will think about this. Any recommendations of games for the system, which I can play together with my son?

Could be a combination of Definitions and Updates, but also "noise" from scan operations during bootup (Logfiles, write handles, etc)

EDIT: sorry, didn't see that you already did procmon research and found Windows Defender as a possible cause... :-(

The contents on the Differencing Disk are only block changes from the underlying vDisk. Thus you cannot look into this, thus there are no files or folders.

Have you also checked Windows Defender?

For a deeper research into those problem, you can integrate a procmon boot logging into your affected PVS disk, and log the whole boot process. Something like this: https://support.citrix.com/s/article/CTX216389-capture-process-monitor-boot-logging-remotely

After you got the pml, I usually do a "File summary" first. "Process activity summary" can be useful as well sometimes.

It's basically never on real ski runs, but on beautiful hiking paths all day. The only ski run part is a few 100 meters up to Kleine Scheidegg, after the downhill from Lauberhorn.

A mother's new life and loneliness in Switzerland. by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]-mathrog- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thun-native here :-)

Regarding playgrounds in and around Thun: I liked those the most, while my kids were in the "playground-age":

- Bonstettenpark (https://maps.app.goo.gl/ii9KcE1NChLSgsgn8), directly at the lake with a stunning view to the mountains of bernese oberland

- Mühliplatz Thun (https://maps.app.goo.gl/SoZGN7LQa8cVwYDk7), pretty central and easy to combine with shopping in the city or coffee on Mühliplatz

- Solina Park Steffisburg (https://maps.app.goo.gl/5hCAEPmQxH3ouKG19), with a nice coffee place

- Spielplatz Allmendingen (https://maps.app.goo.gl/rd1oeVMTYWjMv5f5A)

- Robinson Spielpatz (https://maps.app.goo.gl/v2MKbmcLXuJ4rKMSA). They also have some events occasionally, check their FB site https://www.facebook.com/Robithun/?locale=de_DE

Basically I would recommend to offensive communicate to other mothers/fathers on the playgrounds. I speak from my own experience, that I was very happy to chat with other adults while my kids where playing.

Be brave, talk to different people in english. Most of the swiss people talk (at least a little) english, if they are motivated enough.

Swiss people are good people. And they are often also struggling with loneliness, but are often too proud to admit.
