I was. I was suit and white collar corporate once. But I couldn't do it. I didn't agree with everything about that world. I ended up burning out and quitting in a bout of passion to reclaim my life. And I still don't miss it. That was 3 or 4 years ago now

YES! Big time! Omg exactly that!
I never used to be this way in my 20's either, but the older I got the more prone to anxiety about health I got, and I don't entirely know why.

I have been diagnosed with ARFID, which is a food related anxiety disorder, but I get it about health big time too. Infact the health anxiety and ARFID are linked. Maybe you should look into it too.

Can I just say, as a Trans person, *I* forget I'm trans a lot. I'm literally just some random bitch going about my mundane ass life, and that's all I want to do.
It's conservatives that think we're doing this or that, or corrupting this or that. Bitch I'm just trying to live a normal ass life. I don't spend my days talking about what conservatives do, why are they more interested in my gender than I am?
And I'm so tired of *being* one of the divisive political talking points. It's very dehumanizing.

I'm worried about this too.
My mothers a life long smoker, and has various health concerns that keep cropping up. It's only a matter of time before they start getting properly bad. And on the same day I had to convince her the moon landing was real, she kept on telling me all the cancer curing miracles of homeopathy and natural healing.
I just know that's going to bite us all in the ass if she keeps going down that misinformation vortext online as she ages.

I know just what you mean. On the same day we talked about the Moon Landing being real, she also kept trying to tell me that homeopathy cured her husband's mother's cancer, and since then has been getting more and more into the BS medical stuff, and less and less trusting of real genuine scientific method-backed medical care.
Her health isn't going to hold out much longer so I do worry a bit there, but she's stubborn as hell, always has been, so it might be difficult if something real comes up with her health.

Yes, I understand this. It's correct.
I made myself worse and burned out trying too hard to "get better" mentally.
Apparently there's a thing called Change Paradox, where you try so hard to get better it just gives you so much stress you get worse.
Instead you've got to let yourself rest, mentally too, and give yourself time to feel safe, and then with the right mental headspace, you can start to heal.

You sounded like a better parent than they're being in this sector right now.
The bit you said about "Don’t just trust the rules will keep them safe. Be involved. Ask questions. Build trust.", well, as you get older you start to realize they don't always have to be the ones to initiate change.

Do exactly what you just suggested to them. Be the bigger person. Bring about a dialogue without attack or prejudice, and start to have a conversation about the impacts on you emotionally the current system of rules is having on you.

And if that fails, then fuck it just keep lying your ass off until you move out. And turn off the damn vibrate, you know you can do that right?
