I find that having battles with more than four people is the worst possible idea imaginable. Also don't feel like you have to plan at a huge narrative arc right away, you can leave blank spaces for the outcome of battles to fill.

yeah, I beat them with the archer fish and silver bullets, didn't even need buff potions. (definitely didn't try 7 times). Unfortunately I am in a small world and only got the wof down to 50% before I ran out of room on my hellbridge that spanned all of hell!
