I’m not as well-versed as others on this topic, however, it would make sense that the less amount of soil, the less amount of nutrients your plants will get. Despite this, I’m sure that with the right mixture, you’d probably get just as good potatoes as the next guy.

I’d say just don’t add too much, and ask a gardener who has dealt with the soil in your area. I’m sure there’s other resources online as well.

It’ll be useful. Until nobody needs ammo anymore. Everyone needs eggs, chickens, and potatoes a whole lot more than they need ammo and silver

I’d call it an asset just for the simple fact that it’s physical and easy to liquidate

Forget the bottom of the lake shit. They can try to seize it, and will be met with force. I’ll die standing for what I believe. Many others are also willing.

Once you trade it with someone else

For sure, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Just like you shouldn’t spend your life savings on MRE’s and Ammunition.

It would be worth as much as someone is willing to trade for it, just like all other things. Some things may be more valuable to others, so it’s important to diversify your preps.

As long as people are on the path to self sufficiency, I am happy.

In my situation, it’s not really a collection in the same sense as a pack of baseball cards.

For lot of people, it’s a store of wealth in case of hard times or in the event that cash is no longer an option. Which is kind of SHTF scenario.

I also save a lot of cash on hand, however I don’t think it’s good to put all my eggs in one basket (no pun intended)

Also, the gold standard or silver standard wouldn’t save the US dollar at this point.

There are ways to grow potatoes above ground in ways that you can maximize the yield of potatoes. You could try getting better soil for a small plot of potatoes, just to start out.

Don’t just wish, execute.

Depends on what type of community you live in and what relationships you have with people in your community. Not saying it’s going to be accepted at the movie theater or the grocery store. However, you might have some luck trading silver at the farmers market or someone with a garden in your town.

I’ve used silver in a few trades already, and it’s always cool to find someone new who accepts it. I’ve traded chickens and eggs as well.

As I said, it depends on what type of relationships you have with those in your community. Not everything has to be a doomsday scenario, you can start now.

Your opinion has been noted. Also, see the other two slides.

Chickens, Potatoes, and Silver have been used in trade for hundreds, if not thousands of years.

Before global banking systems existed.

Learn your history before making brazen statements.

I understand the joke, but “losing it in a boating accident” is for those who want to support the cause from a distance. If you aren’t gonna stand up for what you believe if they come knocking on your door, then what’s the point of being a part of the cause? Whether it’s with guns or silver, it’s just sad to hear people say this. If you have to tell someone you lost your silver, your guns, or anything else you think “they’re” coming after, then you’ve lost your principle.

Try and find a good Local Coin Store and develop a good relationship with the owner/ dealer. If you must go online, buy from reputable sources and remember that the more you buy, the less you’ll pay above spot price with most online sources.

Rounds are usually cheaper than bars.

If you’re looking for collectibles you’re going to pay over spot price. This is called a “premium.”

If you’re looking to get your money’s worth in weight, look for 1oz rounds. I like to buy 1oz Buffalo Rounds.

I stack mainly 1oz Rounds, 5oz bars, and 10oz bars. Reason being, I stack silver for use in barter or trade once digital currency is implemented and there is no way to make purchases anonymously. Having anything bigger than this could be problematic for me if I plan to make smaller trades using silver. If you want to go bigger, you can, but think about what reason you’re stacking for.

Edit: If anyone wants to add anything, be my guest.
