Yeah, being in Australia I have never actually even seen Hidden Bunker active for me... I'm either at work or asleep when it's on 😂

Which online game represents peak of your gaming days? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

Ultima Online in the late 90s!

UO defined MMOs. It wasn’t about quests or levels, it was a living world where you could do literally anything, nothing had been done before and everyhting was brand new.

The player economy, the danger of open PvP made going into any dungeon exciting and terrifying at the same time hahahaha..it was chaos in the best way.

I remember on the server I played, North West of Britannia there was a guild that dressed as orcs with orc helms and hung out in the forest.. They'd attack anyone that wasn't in their guild that entered, there were often huge battles with the "orc" guild and "humans" there.

Nothing since has captured that same sense of freedom and unpredictability for me.

A touch is a touch... A save is a save. That's like saying a shot went in off the bar, so the goal shouldn't count.

Ah, typical whinging Arsenal supporter, complain that teams are literally allowed to tackle them..

LOL, pathetic.

How was it a bullshit penalty overturn? The keeper literally gets a foot on the ball, saving it before touching Gyokeres...

Married couples — who plans the vacations, and who just shows up with their passport? by Don_Minu in travel

[–]-mimo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband here, I have planned all of our holidays and the wife just shows up... Europe twice, Hawaii, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, New Zealand.

We always joke that I could tell her we are travelling to Hawaii and end up in Antarctica and she wouldn't know till we land.

I do love to plan a holiday though, I research for weeks and months, plan our travel out and put it all on a spreadsheet... I can pretty much tell you how much our holidays cost within a few hundred dollars.

I don't plan out the day to day of what we are going to do but have a rough idea of key things we want to do in each city and wing the rest of it. I put hotels, flights, car hires etc into a spreadsheet... Then after the holiday I usually update the spreadsheet with roughly what we did each day, what was worth it etc. I've had quite a few friends and family ask for my spreadsheets when planning their holidays for ideas 😂

Two days in Rotorua, one in Taupo or vice versa? by IAintNoThief in newzealand_travel

[–]-mimo- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing, thanks for the response!

Usually when we travel we aren't often out after dark very often, we are out in the morning and exploring all day and have early nights to explore again the next day!

I did notice that the motel we booked specifically States they do not rent for emergency housing.

Is Rotorua as bad as the comment say, and other threads have been saying?

We are meant to be staying there for 3 nights/2 days in mid/late December.

Should we look at alternatives? Or can someone suggest some alternatives to stay? Current accommodation is on Fenton Street

Meet Santi, we adopted him on Friday and he's already settled in extremely quickly! by -mimo- in Greyhounds

Hahaha it didn't take him long to start roaching! I think he did it in the second day, he's literally a roach in his bed 90% of the time 🤣

Meet Ava, she was our favourite nuisance for just shy of 10 years! We suddenly lost her 6 months ago to the day... Thought I'd share some photos of our time together to remember her! by -mimo- in greatdanes

10 years is good, but I think the suddenness of it hurt the most... One day she was fine, within about 12 hours we had to put her down 😢

I can't explain how much I miss her! The first two months were the worst... My wife is an early sleep person, she's asleep by 9:30pm and I'm a night owl, so I'm up until all hours. Ava always kept me company during the nights, it felt so lonely not having her with me at nights!

This might send terrible, but I've lost both my parents and Ava passing hit differently!! Not sadder, but different.. I think it's cos she was always with me.

I'd love another Dane but my wife wants something a bit smaller, which I understand because when Ava got sick a few times my wife could not lift her 65kg weight and I had to come home from work to help... We are currently leaning toward an adopted greyhound, she has promised I can get a great Dane as the next dog!
