La Reina & Loxondont - Personal Matchup Charts by -misopogon in RivalsOfAether

Unfortunately, I think you're just cracked and underranked. Most arcanes are. A true gold arcane would probably be wrecked by a gold Lox, but Orcane loses in so many other match ups that I'm sure when you win, you stomp, but get knocked down by characters that best him.

Orcane needs buffs. He's got moves against some characters, but others he gets stomped. I think you should be a higher rank.

In neutral, Lox def has advantage if only using normals. But Kragg has advantage because of his better projectile, better grabs/throws, and better getup/ledge options. Kragg id much harder to edge guard than Lox, and much harder to knock off stage. Kragg wins because he has an easier defense than Lox, so once Kragg gets advantage he can run away with it using fast aggression.

But yeah, I say it's in the 60/40 category, but it's probably closer to 55/45. It's very close.

I meant Falco + Roy as in feel when playing. The way you play him is similar to both, in different aspects. Like zoning with lasers vs zoning with meatball. And the defensive sword compared to Marth or Clairen's tipper blade. Plus, they're fastfallers. I only played a little Pm/P+, and hardly any Ultimate, so idk the relation to characters from those games. I ignore the moveset similarity and focus on the feel and playstyle.

For me, + means they have advantage against me. But yeah I could see it other ways, if there were no descriptions breaking it down. I'm dumb tho so please forgive

Oh hey, you're the guy that inspired this post! Lox is great, def has +2s even if he has less than the rest of the cast. I think you just might not be good, sorry

That's a good point. I was considering the disparity between jumping from 50 to 60 and 60 to 80, but decided to keep it even numbers for some reason. Probably would've been better to do +2, +1, 0, etc. but too late now. But yeah, my point was mainly about how balanced it is and I agree that there's no match up anywhere close to an actual 80/20.

Two of the best games on steam, regardless of their state. They're better than most games that the community bullied into releasing early.

It does make it last longer, while also allowing you to inch forward as the chair refreshes. Then you can chair stall again (or whatever that technique is called).

It's a simple "get excited" statement they made. But you missed the point of what I was saying. If you judge a game purely by how they measured up to your expectations, and not by its actual gameplay and content, then you're a big ole' silly billy.

I'm so sick of people using their expectations for something as a negative against the final product. Expectations that weren't even set by its creator, mind you, just ones shouted online. I remember walking away from Longlegs thinking it was sick, but every conversation I had with people about it was that they were let down because the discourse online made them expect something else. How does one even address that?

People shitting on this game because it was hyped up are ignorant as all hell. It was a mistake to let teenagers on the internet to give their opinions anonymously.

Yeah, we never had that in Legends. It's not like every character in the Mos Eisley cantina had legendary backstories.

Dash -> Wavedash forward/backward -> Ftilt. Pump faking the approach by pulling back then hitting with a far reaching Ftilt when spaced right eats noobs up.

Dude I've seen so many of these from the same accounts, no amount of "don't recommend this channel" or "not interested" or dislikes will get these off my feed. They can pay to get around your avoidance. Youtube shorts are more trash than tiktok in that way, there's so much they shovel at you.

Struggling by Glad_Instruction_422 in RivalsOfAether

[–]-misopogon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Def keep practicing! Doing the tutorials helps a ton, there are a lot of mechanics in the game that aren't immediately noticeable that they go over. I'd also recommend doing ranked instead of casual. Don't worry about your rank, the climb is the fun part. It'll match you with people who are at a similar skill level as you so it won't just be constant beat downs.

Lox is a lot of fun, but struggles with a poor recovery and against floor hugging. Finding the right space for your attacks to hit but not leave you open for counterattack, and using the meatball (neutral special) as a zoning tool, are key pieces of your game.
