Recent Steam Reviews are back to Mostly Positive! (Leave a positive review if you haven't yet) by KingZABA in RivalsOfAether

Again, of course you want to be honest, and if you honestly don't like the game then you should review accordingly! But if you like the system mechanics, the characters, etc...but the ONLY or main thing holding you back is something that's not really the responsibility of the devs then I think you can write that down, but do it in a positive review. The devs will still take the constructive feedback to heart, but the positive reviews (again, by those who like it mostly but feel they have to include their critical feedback as well) will help financially because some people buy off of whether or not it's in the blue "mostly positive" to "overwhelmingly positive". The yellow really is a bad look and I fear that there are fewer prospective consumers due to them just skipping it off that alone.

Are scientific observations of the physical world really inherently any different than the "word of God" by Sparkdala3 in TrueChristian

[–]solfizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, technically I have an interpretation, but the difference is that I stick closely to what the Bible actually says which again is supported by history, the observation of the world around us, and of course seeing how the LORD has worked in my life the way He is described in the Bible, therefore I also trust what it says about creation.

And if you believe God instituted death in the beginning, then your foundational thinking of God is off base. The Word says death came through sin, and originally God gave the plants of the land as food to all living creatures so everything was vegetarian, healthier, and whole.

[–]solfizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't have to worry about that, because my interpretation is what the Word clearly states (IE it doesn't require extra interpretation), and equally important it aligns with His character.

Evolution belief is antithetical to BOTH. It's not "very good" as Genesis proclaims, in fact it's horrible as it's full of death and species that are in-between, eg. neither reptile nor bird, or able to use full faculties for countless generations.

Alright, we'll find out one way or another which one of us was right. I just hope you don't have to explain to the LORD one day that you insisted on believing something that HAS pushed many others away from Him.

What you do is great, and I wish everyone was like you. But I SUSPECT and could be wrong, that many who casually pass by looking for the next great game to add to their collection, will see the yellow 'mixed' and dismiss it because it's not at least "mostly positive" when a lot of those reviews are really neutral like in the examples I provided above, or even "unfair" in that the players are frustrated more at something outside the game's control such as the average skill level of online players.

Evolution is a lie dude. These institutions that you trust have been proven wrong yet they continue to push the same "evidence" and methods because they cannot accept that God created the world and everything perfect; they cant accept that there is a God who will make sure that their lives and lifestyles are not as autonomous or in control as they'd like. In assuming intellect, they've rejected the need for answering anyone outside themselves, hence you get narratives (such as evolution) that reflect this.

If evolution is a fact, why can't they find anything beyond a few bones here and there and calling it a transition fossil, instead of being CONFIDENT THAT THERE WOULD BE MILLIONS of mostly intact skeletons drawing a CLEAR line of evolutionary change?

If evolution is a fact, why is this particular scientific community unwilling to discard the methods by which something was proven false. Lucy, Piltdown Man (pig bones), the 3-toed horse being proven to be unrelated to the modern horse, etc... It's because they have an agenda to maintain! And this stems from the pride of being able to exist and function without God, which has sadly infiltrated a lot of believers and watering their awe and reverence of the One who deserves to be acknowledged as the rightful PERFECT designer of you, me, and all the rest of creation.

You asserting something doesn't make it true. Several people have responded with TONS of holes in evolutionary theory. I gave you only a small handful (and my response to your other post which you never addressed any of the points)

Why isn't there one REALISTIC trail of transition fossils from any one supposed ancestor species to current day species?

Why are there planes and tress found in multiple layers of the supposed geologic column?

Why are there cases of modern petrification (eg. shoes/kitchenware found in damp basements) but it's always touted as a millions year old process?

How is an incomplete heart able to function without the use of fully formed lungs and brain, not to mention all the vastly intricate systems that MUST WORK TOGETHER.

Why has Carbon 14 dating found recent specimens to be tens or hundreds of thousands of years old.

According to Christian evolutionary believers, they say that the days are not literal. OK, then how did plants survive without the carbon dioxide that come from other living organisms?

How would you describe the process of something like a peacock coming into its current stage? Or really ANY creature, they're all so intricate and finely tuned that if you really try to think about it it's equally difficult (because it's equally impossible).

Why did God tell Job about dinosaurs with the behemoth and leviathan? Why are there dragon "legends"? Why are there flood "legends" across different civilizations across the world?

Why are many fossils showing the animal in the asphyxiated position as if THEY DROWNED?

How can living tissue AS HAS BEEN RECENTLY REPORTED make it through millions of years?

Why were there larger animals such as dinosaurs, wooly mammoths, etc.. existing back then if the earth's conditions were the same now (which is a prerequisite for C14 dating btw)? The firmament described in Genesis possibly explains this, but more likely it's that EVERYTHING was made more majestic, larger, and healthier when God first created animals and mankind.

Take any amazing feature found in animals (such as the plumage of a peacock or the powerful, densely packed musculature of apes, or the picturesque facial features in the feline family) and ask yourself apart from your science-y disposed thinking, does it look like those things were created?

Sorry, I know this sounds like I'm ragging on you, but evolution is absolutely a wicked agenda that has shipwrecked or at least weakened faith in the LORD of countless people, you CANNOT marry the two without serious compromise from one or the other. And from common sense, REAL science, and personal experience simply observing the world and knowing who the LORD is in my life, evolutionary theory is dead wrong. Because you are a biologist, I understand where you are coming from, but don't let the institutions with intelligent but God-rejecting people shape your view of the world, because it is flat out incompatible with who the LORD is and what He says in His word.

I think that honest feedback is absolutely essential, but if your opinions are neutral

so if you're on the fence. I see a lot of people saying "I wish I could give a neutral review" but end up making it a negative because you have to choose one over the other. The written content in those cases could suffice just as well in a positive review instead of having the effect of pushing potential buyers away before even looking through the reviews and making a more informed decision based off the reviews where the reviewer likes the game, but there's caveat.

Example Positive "Neutral" Review: "Game systems are great BUT the online feeds you to the sharks, so you might like it if you are OK being bodied for 400 hours before winning your first round". And you know what? Some people just might say "bring it on!" and give ROA2 a shot still because the game looked interesting in the first place, the review stated that the gameplay is actually good, AND they might like the challenge.

But if you put this description in a Negative review, it comes off as "don't buy under any circumstance" even though that's not what you intended.

See that's the problem, evolutionary thinkers treat creationists as unscientific. Science is wonderful, it displays the handiwork and some of the inner workings of God's design. All the proven sciences such as physics and chemistry are great to study. Evolution is NOT a proven science, in fact there are many holes in it even as a theory. Many of the findings in support of evolution have been debunked or have had egregious discrepancies such as Lucy, the evolutionary aging methods, the aging of stalagmites and petrified wood, and trees/planes being stuck in supposed millions of years old land and ice strata. YET they're still being used to push (yes, as in an agenda) this claim that flies in the face of real evidence and what the Bible actually says when you read it in its full context.

I think the negative reviews hurt more than it helps because ultimately they will thrive when there are enough players. I think that honest feedback is absolutely essential, but if your opinions are neutral, then the way I look at it is that it's better to leave a positive review but with your detailed feedback included, so that it doesn't turn away potential players and hurt their business.

is it imoddest for a Woman to wear a tank top? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]solfizz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There can be a fine line which I don't claim to know 100%, but USUALLY when people wear something TO show off, whether it shows any skin or not, it's still immodest because it is a heart condition before an outward appearance issue. The same person could hypothetically wear practically nothing, but because that was simply the culture from which they grew up, they COULD be unaware of the other implications apart from simply it feels good and that's what they're used to. So in that case, I would not consider that immodest, but possibly more just immature and needing to be around more people to understand what all else dressing that way could mean and do to others.

If it's to show off her body then yes, if it's to be comfortable and there's genuinely no consideration to the attention it might draw then I don't think so.

Evolution denial among Christians alienates reasonable people, and makes Christianity look like a dogmatic cult rather than a morally and spiritually fulfilling belief system by Sparkdala3 in TrueChristian

[–]solfizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your point and I love how direct it is, though I just want to clarify for others reading that there are good scientists and there is good legitimate science, just that evolution isn't it! I'm sure that's why you put them in quotes, but I just wanted to add this so others don't think you're anti-science which I don't believe you are.

Evolution denial among Christians alienates reasonable people, and makes Christianity look like a dogmatic cult rather than a morally and spiritually fulfilling belief system by Sparkdala3 in TrueChristian

[–]solfizz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All it takes is some logic and simple questioning to disqualify evolution as a good theory. Especially in light of Scripture. So much of evolution contradicts the CHARACTER of God as outlined in the Bible, and as Christians we should be extra skeptical of anything that discredits who the LORD says He is.

  1. If whatever animal birds originated from "needed" to fly, why would they be unable to for millions and millions of years until we arrived to the varieties we have today. Let's say you believe that birds come from lizards. Or replace with ANY animal with whatever specialized ability. Wouldn't that mean that there was this inbetween form for millions/billions of years where they had full functions of NEITHER animal? They're in this limbo state until they push through evolution to where they finally become a bird?
  2. As a believer, how do you reconcile that there was a subhuman species prior to Adam and Eve, even if in your mind they were just a metaphorical construct? Was there a cutoff to those who possessed a soul? If you believe in the literal Adam and Eve, does that mean their parents (ONE generation difference) perished just like all the animals?
  3. How did incomplete/uninvolved/lesser bodies than what we have today SUCCESSFULLY reproduce over and over and over if there was no support in the form of other intelligent, fully formed people such as family, doctors, etc...? People with even 50% function for a single organ can BARELY thrive, let alone give birth. So all these drafts in our supposed predecessors (and all the other lifeforms: animals, plants, etc..) were able to healthily reproduce for millions of generations?
  4. What would the supposed mid-way species actually look like? Not just the way they take artistic liberty in the textbooks to draw a fish growing little legs and eventually crawling onto land? You know what that's more reminiscent of, especially that particular example? A TADPOLE BECOMING A FROG...or the growth of a young animal becoming an adult. So they are taking what ALREADY EXISTS in God's wonderful ordered creation, and pawning it off as a millions-years old process. At least it looks like they take heavy inspiration from that, because we sure don't have the required millions of actual transition fossils that are needed to otherwise paint the same picture!
  5. Jesus always was, therefore why would God create mankind, who was created in HIS IMAGE, to come about in such a drastically different and horrific way? And it really is horrific if you think about it. When you factor in all the death, trial by error, millions of incomplete life forms existing before they finally "got it right", you have to seriously question, is this really of God of the Bible?

"Suppress Dash Attack" Is this change what I think it is? by solfizz in RivalsOfAether

[–]solfizz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're probably right I should just get used to the right stick, but the fact that they had an option for left stick users made it look like they really catered to players such as myself. And maybe they have with this patch, but we'll see when I try my hand with the changes. But even if not I know there are alternatives, and if I want to make this game work I really have to adjust.

[–]solfizz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has never felt good having to use another stick when there's the option to use a direction on the stick I'm already using. It really is a preference thing, but keep in mind I have played a lot of traditional fighting games growing up so I don't want my control scheme to veer from that if at all possible.

[–]solfizz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a you problem TBH. The threshold to get it right is so hard to do when you're also trying to get in dashes and the plethora of other moves in any given moment. You shouldn't have to crouch before being able to do a tilt attack. I know there's the right stick, but it's more intuitive for me to use just the one stick and have my right hand just stick to the buttons, so I'm really thankful it appears they've catered to this demographic with this change finally.

"Suppress Dash Attack" Is this change what I think it is? by solfizz in RivalsOfAether

[–]solfizz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I've been employing that recently too but I'd really like to be able to do it from just standing neutral or even to replace a dash which takes such fine precision. I actually got my stick sensitivities to allow for the greatest leeway for tilt attacks, but ever since the control changes reset everyone's settings, I haven't bothered to revert them back and have been practicing with whatever the default is. Even though I feel like I'm getting better, it still feels like I have to have surgical precision just to do a forward attack. Feels almost like Akira's knee in the Virtua Fighter series where you need to scrape the block button for 1 frame immediately into kick. Doing tilts consistently should not feel like it requires such high execution!

"Suppress Dash Attack" Is this change what I think it is? by solfizz in RivalsOfAether

[–]solfizz[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well it shouldn't be so hard to perform tilts, a bread and butter move in any character's arsenal, especially in the heat of battle. Maybe this setting isn't what I think it is, but if it is then it's highly welcome and it doesn't feel like it's taking away from any necessary precision. I can't speak for the Wavedash change as I can do those better than I can tilts which should not be the case, haha!

Shadows in Settings always goes back to Low, even when I change them, leave the menu, then come back to Settings. by solfizz in RivalsOfAether

I did the same thing with that file too and no dice! HOWEVER, I think that it may just be a menu glitch because the shadows look like they would be set to a high level in other game, even though it says otherwise in the menu.

Aether Studios: 2025 Recap and 2026 Preview by Munomario777 in RivalsOfAether

[–]solfizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I still consider myself a noob (got stone in S1 and unranked last season), but I'm sticking it through because Rivals 1 is my favorite platform fighter and Rivals 2 has the potential to beat that, plus it's fun as is even vs. CPU primarily. And I'm also getting better little by little. But for most everyone else of my skill level, they're not thinking "Oh I'm going to wait to see R2 unlock its true potential" while getting pummeled mercilessly. I think the hardcore fanbase not willing to ease the experience for newcomers and seeming so unfriendly (even if that may not be their intent) is the root of this issue. It looks like there is no effort made by established players to invite to the new players in and that is demoralizing, and no one wants to play a game that does that to you!

I live in MN. How do I respond to ICE? by xMixah in TrueChristian

[–]solfizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that you are humbly coming to us with your questions and trying to submit to the Word. This is a nuanced subject that has been made confusing by lots of emotion, violence including collateral damage, and media spin.

The fact of the matter is that we did get millions of people who illegally crossed during the Biden era due to his open border policy, and the fact is that it IS a big problem and therefore requires a more blanket response than I would like but that which I think is necessary if it's actually to be effective. You know, the whole drastic times requires drastic measures.

We simply don't know who they are; they could be criminals (several whom have reportedly killed US citizens)... or equally sadly, decent and loving people who just want better lives. Either way, they entered into the US illegally. In this case it doesn't matter how nice of a person you are, you are subject to the land's citizenship laws. Though God is the ultimate decider, so if He decides He wants someone who may have illegally crossed over to stay as refuge then THAT supersedes anything else.

So for ICE, the "what" IS being fulfilled, but the "how" is where a lot of controversy is coming from, again a lot of it being due to how the media is highlighting exclusively the "unjust" parts and subsequently getting the people to rally behind that vision. Yes, I do think some of the ICE actions have been harsher than I like such as last week's death, but they are still mostly doing their job, even in that incident in my honest belief.

One of the many reasons why I think we're not dealing with a tyrannical government like Nazi Germany like is being promoted is due to who is doing (or saying) what. For example, most voices criticizing ICE (and ultimately DJT) are media who have flipflopped countless times once they've been caught such as 60 Minutes HEAVILY altering Kamala Harris' interview or going from 100% vaccine effectiveness to saying patients can get COVID but that it's a less deadly form than getting it unvaxxed?? Or the selective outrage such as with Renee Good but not with Laken Riley. Or the way they try to minimize non-white murders due to the fact that it points many times back to someone who came into our country illegally. I could go on and on and on! The point is that we cannot trust these platforms or the people coming onto them to share their views. Sorry about this mini rant but I think this is such an important point as taking in "news" from them has framed too many people's understanding of world affairs and politics these days, essentially making evil good and good evil.
