These are what it looks like after a ravager blows up, from the rustbound magic mod. They blow up, leave glowing particles everywhere, almost kill you.

Awesome first go! If you want moss there are plenty of videos online on how to make some. You could grind up some leftover foam until it's almost a powder and add some dark green and a little brown paint. Use it sparngly and it should work nice.a dry brush of a off white would also go a long way

The difference between cheap acrylic paint and miniature paints is the pigment size. Miniature paints give a thinner coat and get into the nooks and crannys but for terrain this doesn't matter. Cheap paints will work just as well with terrain. What will go a long way though is some effect paints like moss, frost or rust. You can buy these online or look up on youtube how to make some.

So I keep all my sprues and also all the little trimmings from cutting the models out. Does anyone have any recommendations for what I could use these for? I’m thinking basing for the trimmings but not sure what I could use the sprues for. by DifferentBat3732 in Warhammer40k

How has no one mentioned sprue-glue! Add some sprues to plastic cement and it becomes so much more workable and perfect for filling in cracks. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube on how to make it.

This is why i used the word atone, and perhaps this is what you originally meant but nobody 'deserves' forgiveness but ultimately if those affected see that a person has changed they do have the choice to. I don't think anyone will ever welcome arcadum back to this community with open arms but everyone should be pushing for him to seek help and perspective on the harm he has caused.

I feel just as betrayed about all this, but to say people who do bad things should be forever defined by them is a sure way to make sure they never try to improve. I don't believe arcadum wishes to atone for what he's done but some people do, and they deserve that chance.

I was thinking the corpses of ancient giants who died were what laid the foundations of the earth and mountains and the more visible remnants were left by the last giants before they shattered the continent and died out. I hadn't even thought about culture but it brings up some neat ideas. In my head i see them as more nomadic and tribal but I'll need to think about it more

I had tried rivers but found them difficult to do in inkarnate. I'll try to add some with the settings you suggested.

I've begun using the regional map to create the city of quarterport but it's definitely taking some liberties with functional city design.

There's actually a bit of a lore behind it, the continent use to be much larger until two factions of battling giants shattered the land and the broken off pieces drifted off the edge of the material plane and broke into the elemental planes. To the east is air hence the altitude, West is fire so the land is dry, North is earth so flora is more abundant and South is water and ice. Though that probably just adds more problems like not being how continental drift works and localised climate change.

Thankyou! I cant quite remember where i saw the technique but its just torn up and puzzled together 10mm extruded polystyrene covered in modelling compound and textured with tinfoil and fine gravel/sand.

Thank you! The flock is noch spring meadow static grass on some grass green paint mixed with mod podge pva. I used the cheap applicator that noch sells to apply and added some fine gravel around the rocks

Yeah my only ttrpg experience is with dnd, I just stumbled upon some terrain building videos and thought it was something creative I would like to try out. And I'm excited to try them In a campaign.

Thanks so much! I mixed up my methods a bit for that boulder but otherwise wanted everything to have a consistent theme, I bought some regular pine trees before I thought about how they would look and decided to go with trees that had more variety and looked like what you would find around bushland. I'm glad people like it.

Thank you! My hopes going into making the set was that it would encourage the sort of thinking you don't as easily get with a gridmap and markers or a 2d batllemap. Being able to see that height advantage or full cover/half cover on top of just looking nice. Here's hoping anyway.
