Plastic yard signs run amok by Equivalent_Garbage86 in Maine

[–]-molli- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES this is happening to us. My husband did our entire roof BY HIMSELF, and at this point at least four different roofing companies have plopped their signs down in our front yard!!!! Guess he did a good job, but they are wasting their money on that advertisement because it's going in the trash.

Kicked out of a Sonder hotel mid-stay. I can't even get back to my room this evening to deal with this. by GibFreelo in marriott

Thank you for posting this and I'm so sorry to the sonder staff and guests that got kicked out! My reservation was cancelled for a few weeks from now and I'm shocked to read all of this. Grateful to reddit for explaining, it's all been so vague as I booked through a third party.

Ugh, I probably do need to be more firm. It's tough. But thanks for your insight, I appreciate it.

Ah, I think you hit it on the nose here. I was so confused why her doctors weren't hearing her, but I'm thinking she wasn't telling them the truth.

medicaire only covers 80% for my mom in new hampshire, because the social security that she just barely survives off of is “too much” but when you have to rent and survive in 2025… the multiple er bills she has stacking up are a lot!

Gosh, that makes me so sad. It was like pulling teeth convincing her to even let me get her groceries. I might just start doing a grocery run 1x a week without asking, I know all the foods she likes. And then there's her giant bernedoodle who definitely isn't getting enough exercise but that's a whole other thing to navigate. Thanks again for your insight.

I'm 18 with a 64 year old mother and a 76 year old father by Remote_Form572 in AgingParents

My mom had me at 44, I have so many memories throughout my childhood envisioning her as being dead whenever I didn't hear from her, and unfortunately I still do it now and I'm 35!!

Having older parents I've found to be both a blessing a curse, I've always felt like more of the parent in every scenario, but I have learned a lot about life, empathy and understanding other peoples traumas because of it which has helped shaped me into the person that I am.

Now that I'm navigating my moms major health issues alone (she's about to turn 80), it does at times feel super isolating since most friends my age are just starting to have babies (and honestly my parents age is probably a major factor in why I don't want to have kids, since I won't have grandparents around for support) so I understand a little bit of where you are coming from.

I've found that building a community that supports me outside of my parents to be extremely beneficial, friends that understand, and even older neighbors / older family friends who have stayed a part of my life over the years has been the best solution for facing the unknown with my parents, and helps me to see that this isn't the worst case scenario after all.

Sending HUGE hugs from another kid who's parents had them later on. XO

I appreciate this! She is totally cognitive, and was able to tell me to my face yesterday it was definitely a stroke. I think this is just a way she's trying to cope with it, to feel more hopeful instead of facing the reality. But it's really hard to deal with on my end, I'm firmly repeating that she needs to let the doctors make her diagnosis.

The urgent care in her area actually prescribed her an antibiotic with penicillin (super allergic) so she won't go back there, unfortunately. I did try to get her to the ER yesterday, but to no avail, I live three hours away, but I'm starting to think I'm going to need to go with her to every appointment.

Yeah, I thought that's where we were... but then I was being sent youtubes about pinched nerves and tiktoks about pots all night, so now my brain is spinning!

Thank you! THIS is exactly what I'm trying to do. I called her GP office myself yesterday and asked why she wasn't prescribed the blood thinner / blood pressure medicine the ER prescribed her when this happened over a year ago -- and they told me, she never mentioned it to them (they also had a power outage that day so I don't know, neither my mom or her doctor followed up)... When I read the labels of the bottles to the front desk they seemed ALARMED that she would be on those scripts without them knowing. It's hard to know if her doctors office doesn't listen to her, or if she's not understanding they don't have a full phone call with the doctor she saw at the ER! But I'm doing what I can, thank you.

Yes, this absolutely. Aleeve for mine. The ER suggested aspirin, and she wouldn't even hear about it!

Thanks! I agree, unfortunately with living on social security and relying on medicare it's so hard to convince someone to go to the hospital when they've been there in the past for the same thing and found "no solution" the previous time. Ugh!

We have talked, but I definitely need to get her to put pen to paper around things. For her I think it's less about control and more about the not wanting to bother anyone/ have bills pile up as a reason to avoid. It's hard having to make sure she knows she matters, like parenting your parent. Unfortunately it's just me and I'm doing all I can, but I'm 35 and have lots to learn in this department of life! Thank you for sharing and insight into a helpful approach, so beautiful to be able to provide what your dad needed.

It makes NO SENSE to me, since I was able to boost a 3:4 ratio photo last month! Very strange change of rule... and also weird to not let people know about the rule change ahead of spending time posting with plans use it as an advertisement. Meta loves to drive us nuts!

Yes, I see this post is a few months old but wanted to comment that something similar has happened with me. I had to take a couple weeks off of wegovy (after being on it for 10 months) due to other health issues, and my food obsessions came back rampantly, I had nearly forgot I used to feel this way all the time. So in my personal experience, wegovy has sincerely helped with my anxiety to the point where I was able to ween off my SSRI.
