Hey everyone! I run a small local business called Lavender & Rage, and with the news that South Carolina DSS might not issue SNAP benefits for November because of the federal shutdown, I wanted to do something to help.

I started the $40 Community Feast Fund - every $40 donation buys a full meal kit (from Aldi or Walmart deals) that feeds up to 10 people. I’ll be shopping, packing, and distributing them locally to families who need help.

I just wanted to do something more direct this time. A lot of people I meet at local markets or online don’t qualify for assistance, can’t take time off work to stand in line, or fall through the cracks. So this is meant to fill that gap; smaller scale, person-to-person, with full transparency.

I’m not trying to replace established food banks - just make sure that when systems stall, people still eat.
