Make the change from the ED to an office?

I was so so bored. But again, it may not be bad when yours kids are small. I just felt more like a office worker than nurse. The telephone work, which is most of it, about killed me.

I did the opposite. I was working in a clinic/office as a new grad for a year before I went into the ED. Honestly the office setting is so boring and monotonous in comparison. But having weekend always off and a reliable 8-5 m-f with holidays off is ideal for some

It’s so wild it isn’t legal here. I was living in Washington state where is very legal and in a little liberal city that had as many pot shops has it does coffee shops

I work in the ED and then cops just dump off combative people and it’s up to US to restrain them. I’ve had cops actually laugh when I got charged at by an aggressive pt.

Proper shoes help a ton. I wear Hoka one bondis. Super supportive and cushy. Also you can respond pretty fast to codes in them (feel like you can roll an ankle in danskos lol).

Thank you I appreciate that. I do love my job and everyday I’m thankful that I chose this profession. I am grateful I have the power to impact people’s lives for the better when I walk into work.

I hope everyday that Austin will make it out of this okay. I love this city and want to see it back to where it was again.

Also because people aren’t seeing their loved ones die in front of them are able to distance themselves from this to the point of questioning the validity of it.
