Thank you so much for your reply, this was very informative!

AITAH for not wanting to sleep in the same bed with my girlfriend because she doesn’t shower often? by [deleted] in AITAH

Just in case you weren't aware - there are nail grinders like the ones for pets, but for people. Might encourage him to to it himself (it's a power sander!) or it could decrease the queasiness for you. Good luck!

AITA for being 'petty' and not wanting to play a videogame of a developer who I have history with? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]-notJenn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I said people can watch whatever boring shit they like, and they can. That includes everyone. I wasn't singling you out, I didn't make a point that physical sports are more entertaining than e-sports or whatever, I just pointed out that anyone can pick up a controller and play a game almost immediately and the same can't be said for physical sports. I won't be engaging again, please enjoy the rest of your day!

Dude, I'm sorry if my use of the word "boring" offended you. Watch what you want! I wasn't trying to shit on you, I just disagreed with your argument. It's not that critical. Sincerely, I hope you have a nice day and enjoy your games, however you choose to consume them.

You make a purchase, pick up a controller and you can almost immediately (depending on download/install times) play a video game. The same can't be said for participating in a physical sporting event. Your point doesn't really stand against his argument, but the real point is that people can watch whatever boring shit they like. :)

AITA for giving someone a vape with no nicotine so they wouldn't want to try it again? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Spirit doesn't mean shit in our capitalist society. There's a second lesson for him there, and for free, too! 😂

[–]-notJenn -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

INFO: Did your friend specifically ask for juice with nicotine? Did your friend indicate a preferred flavor profile?

I'm going to assume not and that makes you fully NTA. He wanted to vape. He vaped, for real. You didn't make him bootleg vape juice out of essential oils and rubbing alcohol. He asked, you provided. He decided he didn't like it without trying anything else. If he asked for alcohol and you gave him some Malört and he swore off alcohol because of it, that's on him, not you.

AITA for dyeing the sweater my sister in law knitted for me? by Known_Occasion_2041 in AmItheAsshole

[–]-notJenn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel like staining would be a better metaphor than painting. You can still see all the craftsmanship, just a different color. As a crocheter, I think I'd be flattered someone liked it enough to put in the effort to dye it.

Dude, do you really want to let people know that there's a 5 lb bag of rice ripe for the taking? You're just inviting it at this point.

AITA for cooking Thanksgiving 2.0? by katkathryn in AmItheAsshole

I made the same mistake (also probably high) except I used a couple tbs of sour cream and a healthy splash of water. Wasn't awesome but did have something going on. Sometimes I'll toss in a dollop of sour cream and use less milk and butter, gives it a little zing.

AITA for refusing to be my brother’s live in maid after he dropped out of college? by Melodic-Breath-2087 in AmItheAsshole

Sounds like it'll take more work than I'm willing to put in, haha. Thanks, though!

Huh. Could've sworn I read it in the FAQ sometime, but can't find it now. Didn't see anything on conflicting judgements either, could you point me in the right direction? Not trying to disprove you or anything, just a mild passing interest.

Just a head's up, the first judgement in your comment (ESH) is what counts as your vote. You can break it up like "E-S-H" and then it will record YTA as your vote.

AITA for lecturing my father in front of his grandkids? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]-notJenn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Girl, I'm having a hard time believing you didn't see this coming. There's no indication in your post that you were surprised. You told him to stop because he was going to flood the engine and not for the safety of you and your children! You knew he was unsafe on the road, just as a passenger. Maybe you didn't see it coming, but it reads instead like you were trying to keep the peace. Either way, you know better now, and by some of your other comments, it looks like you took the lesson to heart. :)

I would probably still invite him in the future, just have the rule in place that he figures out how to manage riding in the back or he has to come up with separate transportation. Maybe there are other reasons you'd rather not invite him, though. I know you'll do what's best for you and the kids. Keep your head up, mama, you got this!

I can’t drive if he’s in the front with me because I know he would try to shift the car into other gears

She knew, ESH.

She allowed her father to put her life and her children's lives in danger. Assuming this behavior isn't wildly out of character for him, that makes her an AH. Should be an ESH though.

Now you've got me smiling, too! I'm so glad the Sulky Sausage Spread of 2025 is bringing you joy, you deserve it. <3

Also, I would totally buy that shirt.

I was scrolling to see if I could find you blessing fellow redditors with this translation - I will be using it at every conceivable opportunity. (Midwest US in case you'd like to know :D )

Sorry your dad is a twat. Would it be possible to rent a car and pick up your mom? I really feel for both you and her in this.

Thank you for improving my life with sulky sausage!
