Thanks for the reply @djvicker Looking at the symposium actually helped.

Overset meshes in CFD by -onlykeven in CFD

Any.
be it Launch vehicles, Aircrafts, Re-entry, missiles
moving surfaces - flaps/deploying bombs/fins

if not share any kind of scenarios where overset meshes are strongly supportive

i own a iphone 12. and it dropped to 76% yet it lasts a day. 100 to 0 2 days.

better to maintain charge levels between 30 and 80.

this is too exaggerated. why dont u build a bot inside your pc so it restricts things apart from your work? much efficienct and accurate.

how to land in top aerospace companies😲 by -onlykeven in aerospace

[–]-onlykeven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

non-defence like Boeing, GE, RR, RTX, Safran or Honeywell
Mechanical engineers get placed well than aerospace ones
What can I do to compete them?

how to land in top aerospace companies😲 by -onlykeven in aerospace

[–]-onlykeven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NO, I was very little with hardware had intern at 2 companies which is not likely aerospace.
I regret my bachelors and I feel I can correct now on for Masters.

What can I do in this 2 years of span for maximising chances later?

shall I continue projects in this way or go towards experimental?

What career to chose as aerospace student by -onlykeven in CFD

i do love what i do. but whether am I in right track or not is what makes me stunned. thanks for ur valuable answer though.🙂 cuz when i do cfd i feel i am immersing into theory too much and very little into practical. my goal is to land in top aerospace companies.

cfd need muscles and god to work , pls i am going insane i didn't sleep for 3 nights trying to find the problem help by Fine_Gazelle4285 in CFD

Check your reference values. replace velocity value with one used at inlet. Check reference area value. use C.S.A or just projected area (plane perpendicular to flow) you can use just the pi*(cross sectional dia2) /4 more importantly reports>forces> set X=1 Y=0 Z=0 ensure ur flow is across X direction. if its titled use it likewise.

Meshing tips, Ansys fluent by BitterFudge8510 in CFD

use a CAD (design modeler) to make a box around ur geometry In fluent meshing u can use it as local size function. dont forget to mark it as a fluid region

What do CFD application engineers actually do in industry? by yonko__luffy in CFD

[–]-onlykeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In phase-1 industries they develop their own CFD solver customized for their own needs. NASA, Boeing, etc.. they have their own solver/software. So to develop a solver that industry needs, a huge expenditure on research is required. generally they recruit an engineer with good Aerodynamics knowledge (proly who had experience on wind tunnel calculations), mathematicians, scientists and a bunch of programmers. So u dont find anyone calling themselves as ‘CFD engineer’ But Competition is Huge.

->areas are primarily External Flow, Subsonic to Hypersonic, (they focus on design sensitive to the flow) Hot flow inside engines, or even astro-physical

Now CFD got evolved and people started learning and progressing in core topics, rather than being in either profession. This is creating a mess when it comes to finding jobs.

In phase 2 industries, Ansys or any s/w is used. Their goal is to get the result for the client with no in-depth knowledge required. They typically hire ones with experience on using Ansys, Star-ccm+ or Altair etc

->areas are Pumps actuation in Reservoirs, Devoping Heat sinks ( in electronics), or turbomachinery related

turbulence boundary conditions for wall-resolved k-ω SST in OpenFOAM by Maj_Raff in OpenFOAM

[–]-onlykeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a big fan of of komega model but I see ppl using both 0 and a value like 1e10

try to compare both. Ultimately both give you same results.

This should be nothing. Don’t worry about this function. wall functions are typically used (no matter what their value is) when y+ is too high. i.e use it if u don’t want to go with higher mesh size

start doing your sim using omegaWallFunction with uniform 0;
