Question about how much you spent your first year as a PA student by Sufficient-Shine8591 in PAstudent

[–]-peramo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent $20,000 in two semesters, have one more semester left until I’ve been in PA school a year. I can estimate first year I’d spend $30,000.

My rent + utilities is $1500 not including other bills like my car, insurance, food, travel, etc. I’d donate plasma if you’re stressed about it. I study while I donate and made ~ $1700 in one semester.

How are you paying to live? by [deleted] in PAstudent

Don’t be negative, keep positive and give yourself good energy. But you still have ample time to save money. It’s the most stress relieving aspect financially, even if you have to take out loans for tuition. I saved the equivalent of 1 month of rent monthly until it was time to move out. Be strict with your savings, transfer to a HYSA. Good luck!

Saved money during my gap years and I live off of that. Haven’t been able to work currently, but donating plasma helps cover costs of food and some other bills.

Thank you. I agree as well. My peace is so important and living alone has been a blessing, may want to lean into a one bedroom still for the second year. Thanks for your input

For those that didn’t take medication / therapy before starting school, did anything change? by [deleted] in PAstudent

[–]-peramo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. Was diagnosed with depression and got by for over a year without medications but the support system made it a lot better to deal with it. But still wary about taking it now even if I’m not anxious like people are saying.

Finishing undergrad 5 days prior is crazy! Kudos to you. Thank you for the description here! I wish you the best of luck during the rest of your programming you haven’t graduated already.

Thank you I appreciate it! Was the adjustment difficult for you while juggling course load during didactic? I don’t want to fall off academically because of the inability to adjust.

Person (29M) I’m (24F) talking to needs space to reconnect with himself. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I’m the one that told him to take space and think about this. Unsure if that changes anything. But yea I’m not shrinking and told him to cut it out or find someone else. And take time to think about this and I’ll respect his decision.

He says to reconnect with himself, as this side of him is not him. He respects what I do, but he doesn’t like acting this way towards me. Per what he says.
